Enchanting by Celine Dion

Another celebrity, another fragrance. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on celebs capitalizing on branding themselves, but I just can not get over the sheer quanity of perfumes out there from singers, actresses and models. The latest launch comes from Celine Dion and it's called Enchanting.

Developed by James Krivda of Givaudan, Enchanting contains a sweet blend of osmanthus, red berries, cyclamen, diamond orchid, gardenia, freesia, mimosa, sandalwood, amber and tonka bean. It is packaged in a tall, multi-faceted glass slender glass bottle and the outer packaging is dark navy with gold floral lattice detail.

The Enchanting product range includes four eau de toilette sprays ($20–$48) and a body lotion ($12). All purchases also come with a promotional CD. (I'm sure that last bit will be joyous news to my father, who-for years-has endured my mother's habit of putting Celine's duet with Barbra Streisand on "repeat" in the CD player.)

The Enchanting Elizabeth Arden Mediterranean Perfume

Elizabeth Arden Mediterranean was inspired by Catherine Zeta-Jones and her love of and fondness for the Mediterranean Sea. It was created by perfume artisan Claude Dir, who successfully captured the essence of Capri and Sardinia, where blue skies and warm sea breezes meld with the smell of mountains and warm sand.

The fragrance features floral and wood notes such as peach nectar, sorbet, wisteria, sandalwood, mandarin plum, star magnolia, orchid, musk and amber. The feminine, oval bottle is made from cerulean blue heavy glass, ostensibly to match the color of the sea. The cap is hammered silver-a gorgeous compliment to the icy blue fluid.

The Elizabeth Arden Mediterranean collection consists of a 1.7 oz Eau de Parfum Spray for $47.50, a 3.3 oz Eau de Parfum Spray for $57.50, 6.8 oz Body Lotion for $29.50 and a .63 oz Body Shimmer Powder for $35. It's available now, and is much more affordable than a plane ticket and seaside vacation!

2009 Critics’ Choice Awards: Amy Adams

Amy Adams walked the red carpet with beautifully shiny hair. (I wonder what serum she uses for that smooth look . . .) With a slight wave at the bottom and center part, it's a refreshingly simple style for the always-enchanting actress.

Carrying over to her also minimal makeup, she chooses lightly applied shadow and liner around her eyes and soft, coral-colored lip. While I think it goes to show you don't need to be all done up to still look like a doll, do you think she took her red carpet beauty far enough? Or would you prefer a little more oomph?

2008 Primetime Emmy Awards: Chandra Wilson

Award shows should be all about the enchantment of Hollywood style, and Chandra Wilson of Grey's Anatomy does not disappoint. It could be the first Emmy Awards night back in 1949 for all we'd know, judging from Wilson's timeless hair and makeup. With those dramatic lips and perfectly styled updo, she gives a shout out to the ladies of yesteryear. How do you like her modern take on this throwback style?

Nude lip glosses are the end all, be all of makeup because they're so versatile. They can be worn on a bare face, with a dark or metallic smoky eye or with a touch of blush and mascara. They've been one of the top beauty trends among celebrities and It girls for the past few years and it doesn't seem like this pale lip look is going anywhere.

Below, I've listed my all-time top five favorite nude glosses - and let me just say, these were not slim pickings. There are so many to choose from, but I based my decision on color versatility, texture and scent. What's your top pick for nude lip gloss?

Besame Cosmetics Enchanted Lip Glaze in Latte ($23) is a thick, creamy and sweet vanilla-scented gloss that leaves lips feeling moisturized and looking off-the-charts shiny.
Scott Barnes Lip Slick in Suggestive ($22) is an over-the-top creamy lipsticky-lipgloss. It's a favorite of Jennifer Lopez and Kate Hudson and is available in five nude shades to suit all skin tones.
Laura Mercier in Petal ($22) is a rich, opalescent, beigy-pink shade that lasts long and has been recently re-formulated with a hint of vanilla. The shine is brilliant and the neutral color makes it a makeup case staple.
Estee Lauder Pure Color Lip Gloss in Quartz ($16) has remained one of my favorite glosses for over a year because of its smooth, non-tacky texture and wearable color. It's by far the palest of the nudes listed, and looks beautiful over a neutral lipstick or worn alone.
Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Reflect in Beige Velvet ($24.50) is a shiny, light-reflecting nude-pink lip gloss that blends into the color of your lips. This is my go-to gloss for subtle daytime color.

Amy Adams' Oscars Look: Love It or Hate It?

I love Amy Adams not only for her spot-on portrayal of a fairytale princess in Enchanted, but also because she also very closely resembles my favorite princess of all time, Ariel from The Little Mermaid! While I'm not convinced that red is the most flattering lipstick shade for redheads in general, her smooth waves and overall simple makeup make for an pretty - if a teensy bit safe - look. What do you think?

Shu Uemura 2007 Holiday Muse Collection

Just out from Shu Uemura is the 2007 Holiday Muse collection. This rich and sinfully decadent line is filled with warm browns and beiges, deep reds and-of course-tons of gold and metallics. The collection was developed by celebrity makeup artist and Artistic Director for Shu Uemura USA, Gina Brooke.

Gina's inspiration came from the flattering and very seductive amber hue of a candlelit room. Imagining a woman who epitomizes luxury as her muse, she tried to capture that air of radiant sophistication.

The collection includes three new shades of Rouge Unlimited lipstick in Gold Beige, Pink Beige and Chocolate Brown ($23 each), silver glitter mascara ($30), two limited-edition nail polishes in Gold Beige and Chocolate Brown ($16 each) and two amazing eye shadow palettes in Dignified Grace (four warm golden shades, $65) and Enchanting Charisma (four soft neutral shades, $65).

So far my favorite product is the Dignified Grace shadow palette, but I haven't tried everything quite yet. Does this muse seem to be drawing you in?

Lulu Guinness Casts Her Spell

Lulu Guinness is a quirky jewelry, handbag, shoe, linen, rug and optical designer. She's built her brand around a '50s-era, glamorous and edgy-yet-feminine style that has won fans in celebrities from Madonna to Katie Couric. The latest addition to her product range is a perfume called Cast A Spell.

The scent and packaging was inspired by Lulu’s fondness for magical, enchanting and even wicked fairy tales. The fragrance is a blend of sophisticated florals and woodland berries created from notes of frosted blackberry pulp, mulberry, red currant, iced lavender, lilac petals, davana, black velvet fig, amber, bourbon and patchouli.

The bottle-a dramatic contrast of black, white and silver-is meant to resemble a crystal ball surrounded by a thorn and leaf wreath. The collection consists of three eau de parfum sprays: 3.4 ounces ($78), 1.7 ounces ($58), and one ounce ($38). Additionally, there are Magic Dust bath crystals ($32) and a body lotion ($42). It can be found online and in the Lulu's London, New York and Tokyo boutiques.
