From the runways onto department and drugstore shelves, I'm sure we'll see lots of fresh new makeup options and application techniques go full circle come March. Last month in New York, we saw six very wearable trends emerge, from peach lips to bold eyeliner to heavy-handed under-the-eye liners. But throughout the course of New York Fashion Week and other Spring 2010 shows, including Paris, London, and Milan, there were other looks that won't quite make the transition.

New York Fashion Week ended last week, and now it's time to analyze the styles, from hair to makeup to what polishes we foresee flying off the shelves come March. One of my favorite things to do is to watch a model's face go from nude to runway-ready, which is just what I got to do with Nars senior makeup artist James Boehmer. Erin Fetherston's collection was inspired by Juliet (of the Capulets), so James came up with a subtle, innocent face for the show.
Fresh, young, dewy skin is essential to this look.

Not only have we spotted minimal makeup this 2010 Spring Fashion Week, we're also seeing lots of pale nails. At Marc Jacobs's show, the theatrical makeup look, which was created by NARS and inspired by dancer Martha Graham, had a gothic, mysterious quality. As for the nails, Jacobs hand-picked four shades of OPI polishes to complement the whimsical, nude-toned clothing we saw on the runway.

Reni Lane is a Columbia University student, but when she's not in class, she's tending to a burgeoning music career. Her album doesn't come out until September, but she's already had a song featured in The L Word, and she's the star of fashion designer Erin Fetherston's forthcoming lookbook. Last night, she attended a dinner party with mall punkers The All-American Rejects while showing off her signature flame-colored hair.

You probably don't know the name Mia Aminata Niara — she goes by Aminata professionally — but that should soon change.
The 5'9" stunner was born in Senegal, now lives in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, and speaks three languages. She's, as they say, big in Europe: Aminata has walked the runways of Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier, Lanvin and appeared in magazines such as Vogue Germany.

If you haven't heard of Chanel Iman yet, get ready, because this teenager might just be the next supermodel. The 5'9" Korean-American/African-American stunner has worked for a long list of designers including Christian Dior, Valentino, YSL, Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs, and Oscar de la Renta. Oh yeah, and she's already been on the cover of Vogue.

Last year, MAC released a Barbie-themed makeup collection. It's been out of stores since last spring, but a few pieces are available on eBay.
But before the MAC collaboration, Barbie had her own line of cosmetics for little girls.
