Usually sporting black eyeliner and pale lips, Eva has taken a red carpet look that works for her and worked it into the ground. It works for her, but it might be fun to see her switch up her makeup. Maybe she'd fall on her face, but maybe she'd make a brand-new statement. You never know. Her chestnut hair is back at the bobbed length, smooth in the front, fuller in the back. Perfectly lovely. Trend Alert: New Year, Long Waves

OK, I know it's nothing all that earth-shattering since long waves have been in fashion long before the Farrah Fawcett days. But this New Year's Eve, it was all about the soft cascading curl. Whether it was a more-refined look like Ashlee Simpson and Eva Longoria Parker or tousled and undone à la Molly Sims and Chloë Sevigny, the look was still sexy - and a little more inspired than pin-straight locks. Want some loose waves? Keep a large-barreled (at least one inch or larger) curling iron open and wrap your hair around the barrel for a few seconds and release. Is this the iconic hairstyle of the 2000s? We have one more year to find out, but I'm betting yes.

Eva Longoria Parker provides a burst of warmth during the wintry awards season. Her cheeks have a sun-kissed glow, and the shimmery shell shade of her eye shadow is similarly summery. Looks like she's ditched the false lashes and complicated curls of her recent looks, opting instead for a simple, beach-glam look. What do you think of this hair and makeup on Eva?

How-To: Eva Longoria Parker's Hair at the 2009 Golden Globes

With such a show-stopping frock, I was glad to see a simpler hairstyle not try to compete with her Reem Acra gown and floral diamond buds. Personally, I think her look is lovely, so I'm glad to share this hairstyle with you.

Taking inspiration from 70's icon Ali MacGraw, Ken Paves created her simply timeless look. The key is to keep things straight and shiny, so find out how he did it when you read more.

Start with towel-dried hair and add a serum like Ken Paves Healthy Hair Shine Serum.
Part down the middle and blow-dry straight with a mixed-bristle brush (like a Mason Pearson).
Flat iron the hair and for added sleekness and pull low and tight before securing with an elastic. Wrap some hair around the base of the ponytail to hide the band, if desired.
For added shine, add more serum but leave a little texture around the hairline (i.e., don't slick hair back super-straight). This prevents the look from becoming too severe.
Help the look stay all day, or night, by finishing up with hairspray such as Ken's Healthy Hair Strong Hold Shaping Spray, which he used on Eva.

Love It or Hate It: Hayden Panettiere Does It Up

At the Whaleman Foundation Benefit, Hayden Panettiere hosted a crowd that included Eva Longoria Parker to raise money and awareness for her favorite cause. (Too bad the night went sour before long.) Hayden's known to put on a fully glam look for events like this, but do you think there's too much going on with this hair style? Or is it completely up your alley?

Eva Longoria Parker just might be the shimmer queen of the Costume Institute Gala. It looks like she has highlighter on her cheekbones, frosty eye shadow, and a dusting of powder on her shoulders. The false lashes are too much for daytime, but they really add drama to this look. I'm not crazy about the curls; it's a variation of her SAG awards look, and I think it looks too stiff and serious for someone who's only 33. That's just my opinion, though - what's yours?
