Katy Perry might be blowing up the charts with her catchy tunes, but she's definitely found her place in the beauty industry, as well. In fact, false-eyelashes brand Eylure recently announced on its Twitter account: "Big news! @katyperry has designed an exclusive new lash range with @EylureUSA." While there's no word on exactly what the lashes will look like (teenage dreams? glittery cupcakes?), the news is very much in line with Katy's retro-meets-quirky image. Over the past year or so, Katy has launched two fragrances, Purr and Meow, inked a deal with GHD hair tools, and even debuted her own line of OPI-branded polishes. Look for Katy's false lashes at Ulta starting next month. But don't blink: surely the multitalented star will have more beauty ventures in store for 2012.

Guys sporting makeup is no new phenomena, and many brands are happy to oblige with cleverly named, dude-centric products. From manscara to male polish to guyliner, there's a beauty product out there for any chap who so desires to enhance his beauty. Ladytron Inspires False Eyelashes

If we'd had to guess which English musician would inspire the design of false eyelashes, Bat For Lashes would be the most literal choice. In reality, it's electro quartet Ladytron that's behind two faux lash sets from new UK-based brand We Are Faux. Makeup artist Ana Cruzalegui, who works with vocalists Helen Marnie and Mira Aroyo, created two sets (about $27–$30); they're featured in the above video, along with the rest of this year's designs. One of the Ladytron-inspired looks features tiny pyramid studs, while the other sparkles with copper-hued glitter. Both are available online with a hefty shipping fee, but you could always try your luck and see if they're sold at the merch table during Ladytron's current North American tour.

Etsy crafters are known for their creativity, but crafter Spirys has found a way to take fake eyelashes to a whole new level with microscopic glass beads, tiny toys, itty-bitty shells, feathers, and even metals. The lashes are all wired together, so they're bendable and you can re-use them over and over again, plus, they range between $7 and $25, which is cheaper than most fancy falsies.
