Beauty Byte: Napoleon Perdis's Reality Show Debuts Monday Morning

Charismatic makeup artist to the stars, Napoleon Perdis, is everywhere these days. He's got a training academy in LA and his products can be found at ULTA, Target, Napoleon Perdis Stores, and select boutiques. Oh, and that's just in the United States.

The Australian native's next venture? A 10-episode reality program called Get Your Face On, where the now Hollywood-based Perdis is out to find his protégé amongst 12 contenders. “I’m going to be fair, but I’m going to be tough,” he said.

The show, which will run in a marathon-style format, starts Monday, Dec. 8 at - 7 a.m.?! Zoikes, that's early. Each hour-long episode will air throughout 10 consecutive weekdays, with the finale on Friday, Dec. 19 So, tell me - will you be up and alert with your morning joe to watch, or is it going to be TiVo all the way?

The latest baubles from Angelina Jolie's Style of Jolie collection with jeweler Robert Procop (yes, the man behind her gorgeous engagement ring) are about to hit the road in two pop-up showcases in Monaco from July 15 to Aug. 15, before they launch at select boutiques in September. Since the collaboration debuted in late 2010, you could only get your hands on the baubles by private appointment. This time around, you'll find yourself face-to-face with one stunning emerald necklace, bold citrine tablet earrings, and maybe - if you time it right - even Jolie's engagement ring, which is expected to visit the showcase with Brad Pitt sometime this Summer. The bonus? These creations have a do-good twist. Like all of her Style of Jolie pieces to have debuted since the collaboration's launch, all proceeds from the line will benefit Angelina's charitable foundation, the Education Partnership For Children of Conflict. With decadent jewels on display, and for a great cause no less, we can only hope to see more from this very cool partnership.

Although a basic - challenging, but basic - pose, Shoulderstand can put you at risk of strain and injury when done incorrectly. Turn this pose into your favorite by checking out these common complaints and ways to remedy them.

"I Can't Breathe"
If you're well endowed or carry extra weight in your belly, then gravity causes added pressure on the lungs and throat, making it tough to take in a deep breath. A supportive bra and fitted top can help, but if you still have trouble breathing, then changing how you do the pose will make a huge improvement. Instead of stacking your pelvis and feet directly over your shoulders, hinge at your hips slightly, pressing them away from your face so your feet extend slightly behind your head.

Still can't breathe? Try the Legs Up the Wall variation; rest your lower back on your mat or, to give your hips a little lift, rest your lower back on a folded-up blanket or flat bolster.

Like most tots, my lil ones have a bit of an obsession with bandages - one slight scrape and they're begging me to fix it up. Some of that is probably the fun characters they get to place on the boo-boo, but I have a feeling more of it has to do with the attention they receive. Imagine how they would react if it was none other than Kermit the Frog, Gonzo, or Miss Piggy calming them down?

Band-Aid Brand just introduced Band-Aid Magic Vision, a bandage that works in conjunction with a free iPhone app to help soothe injured kids. Here's how it works: Apply a bandage to an injured child (it can even be a pretend injury, if your kids are prone to inventing cuts and bruises the way mine are), and then point an iPhone or iPad loaded with the app at the bandage. The app then allows kids to interact with one of the three Muppet characters as they comfort the kids. Your children can pose with Miss Piggy on a runway, help Gonzo with one of his crazy daredevil acts, or swing with Kermit as he sings "Rainbow Connection." They can also photograph themselves interacting with the characters, and that sounds like just the cure tots need when they're facing noncritical injuries. What do you think?

Rather than take a second job to pay for our latest fitness addiction, we turned to Beverly Hill-based Cardio Barre instructor Stacey Bosworth to get the inside scoop on scoring a long, lean dancer's body in your living room. "This at-home workout is effective because it targets the whole lower body. Cardio Barre is amazing because it is a no-impact workout that allows you to lengthen and strengthen your muscles while burning fat. It will also help increase your flexibility and strength," says Bosworth.

Celebrity devotees, including Dakota Fanning, Neve Campbell, and Heather Morris, can all attest to the fact that Cardio Barre has given them "a lifted tush and leaner, dancer-like legs!" Incorporate these three moves into your regular routine three times a week for maximum results.

Butt Blaster
Come down to the floor on both forearms with your knees bent. Your left hip is directly over your left knee. Your right leg is bent to a 90-degree angle with your foot flexed. Extend your right leg toward the ceiling as if you were pushing the ceiling away from you (see photo above). Bring your right leg down past your left hip and then back up toward the ceiling, keeping your leg parallel to the floor with your kneecap pointing toward the ground and your foot flexed. You are doing a full range of motion, trying to imagine extending your leg all the way through the ceiling.

You could argue that the eyes are the most important part of the face (windows to the soul and all that). For a makeup artist, never has a sentiment rang more true. The eyes are a canvas for many creative colors and techniques, but the last thing you want to do is taint your carefully applied shadows and liners with spidery or clumpy lashes.

Floriane David of Make Up For Ever Academy admits that one of the worst mascara faux pas is the floating lash look (this issue is especially rampant among blondes). She recommends using a fan brush to get right to the root of your problem. First, apply mascara onto the fan brush and then paint onto the lashes. You can also use a shaking motion (with your mascara wand or fan brush) to make sure you are getting the base of your lashes coated. And that's how you shake things up.
