We almost all use them, but the variety of terminology is quite wide, and I never realized till I moved away from home for college that they could be called anything other than what I'd grown up knowing them as. I'm not sure what to think about the Thinny Hair Holder ($20), a volume-boosting contraption that resembles a Velcro crown. I'm also not so sure what to think about this awkward low-budget commercial, which might be light on the editing, but high on the entertainment value, particularly when the product falls off of her velveteen demo board. While Bumpits, a similar device for creating loads of lift, seems to be quite popular — it's even used on the Gossip Girl set — I have to wonder if the Thinny Hair Holder will have success, too?
