Nontacky, Textured Hair Is Just a Dab of the Fingertips Away

The Fall 2010 runways were full of both voluminous and textured hair, and as a result we're seeing an onset of products designed to help us achieve pieciness and high-to-the-sky styles. Aveda has you covered on the major hold, and now Redken has you covered on tousled strands.

The brand's Structure Wax 17 Classic Styling Wax ($17) gives lots of separation and hold throughout the day, without the tackiness. If you've ever played the clarinet or had braces (yes and yes for this Bella), you might remember the texture of the wax used in both situations is not sticky or gummy, but instead just plain waxy. That's exactly what you get with the Classic Styling Wax, a straightforward texture with a hint of emollience that provides a hint of shine. As for the aroma, it has a fresh fougère quality about it, with grassy and slightly citrusy notes.

And here's a tip: When applying, warm up the wax on your fingertips to emulsify. Apply the wax on dry hair starting from the back of the hair to the front, focusing the application on just the ends to avoid weighing it down. For even more hold, blast a blow dryer on the ends for a few seconds to set.

Hair waxes are the greatest invention for those of you with short hair that like to go for the chunky, piecey look. They are a cross between gel, mousse, and hairspray, allowing hair a medium hold with pliability. Genius, I say. Let me know what you think of these three styling hair waxes.

How Much Did You Primp Before Delivery?

Babies are natural beauties, but their mamas often think they need some help to feel that way themselves. While many new moms pull out a hairbrush and some lip gloss for their first postdelivery pictures with their new tots, others start thinking about those shots before their first contraction ever begins. Beyoncé just revealed that she did a little predelivery primping before welcoming Blue to the world. She told People:

I did have a fresh eyebrow wax . . . I got my nails done, I got my feet done, had my hair done, and I had my little lip gloss . . . I didn't feel that I looked beautiful during birth, but who does? After being pumped with all those fluids and gaining so much weight . . . I barely recognized myself.

She's certainly not the only one! Before both my sons' births, I'll readily admit to visiting the nail salon and having my hair blown out (hey - five days in the hospital is a long time to not wash your hair!). Not only did it feel good to take the time to get it done, it also helped me feel better about the pictures I knew my family and friends would be sharing.

Mansome Trailer: Will Arnett and Jason Bateman Go to the Spa

Documentarian Morgan Spurlock took on the country's growing health epidemic in Super Size Me and the expansive advertising industry in The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, but now he's tackling an even bigger issue: manscaping. In the trailer for Spurlock's new film, Mansome, Will Arnett and Jason Bateman work with Spurlock to get to the bottom of why men's maintenance has become more important than ever in recent years, with the help of some celebs as well as everyday guys.

Clearly this movie isn't as serious as the director's previous projects, but it does look kind of hilarious. Arnett and Bateman have perfected their bro-chemistry (thanks to Arrested Development), and I definitely got a kick out of them in mud masks. While I'm still not sure about the balance between funny and fact, I'm happy to listen to Zach Galifianakis wax poetic about facial hair any day. Anyone who watches Dancing With The Stars knows how easily Cheryl Burke moves around a ballroom. This season, she's done the salsa, Argentine tango, cha-cha-cha, and more with hunky Cuban actor William Levy. In between tapings, the dancer and Veet spokeswoman revealed what it takes to get ready before and after she hits the floor. "When I'm not performing, I keep it simple," she says of her beauty regimen. Here, she shares her beauty routine on- and off-camera.

BellaSugar: What's it like to get ready before Dancing With the Stars?
The ballroom look is pretty intense, but we have an unbelievable team. I usually spend about four hours in hair and makeup - covering everything from tanning to fake lashes to nails - before I even get started on wardrobe.

BS: Dancing With the Stars is known for featuring shimmering airbrush tans. Do you have any tips or tricks for looking fresh in-between applications, when they tend to get blotchy?
I keep my skin moisturized, which really helps my tans last. I swear by Brown Buns Airbrush Spray Tans.
