Halle Berry is the kind of woman you'd be jealous of, except she seems like a smart, down-to-earth lady who you could be friends with. She's one of the most in-demand actresses in Hollywood, she seems thrilled to be a mom to baby Nahla, and she's in love. It's safe to say that for her, life smells pretty sweet right now . . . which is just the kind of corny pun I'll use to tell you about Halle's new fragrance endeavor.

Launching next week, Halle by Halle Berry ($17–$35 for EDP) is a woody, oriental scent. The top notes are Sicilian bergamot, fig leaves, and pear blossom layered over heart notes of freesia petals, hibiscus flower, and ultra mimosa. A dry-down of sandalwood, driftwood, cashmere musk, olibanum sbsolute, and sensual amber add a more sensual tone. Along with eaux de parfum sizes, the scent will be available as a body lotion. If it succeeds in making me feel half as beautiful as Halle is, I'll consider it a huge success.

Halle Berry Is a Mixmaster of Fragrance

When I told you about the Halle Berry scent, you expected something sweet and floral. Well, today comes more news about the forthcoming fragrance, Halle by Halle Berry, due out in March. The scent, a woody oriental, and the bottle, meant to evoke the beach, were two years in the making. Berry tells WWD, "[Before my fragrance] I was mixing other brands that shall remain nameless to make my own scent with fig and mimosa,” she said. “With Halle, I added olibanum, which is an African root, which brings spice to the fragrance, and sandalwood, which smooths everything out and makes it yummy. It’s very sensual, very natural, very much reflective of the outdoors.”

Whether it's Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely or Paris Hilton's latest, celebrity fragrances are big business. generating a ton of cash both for the celebrity and the beauty company they work with. It's estimated that in 2006, worldwide sales of the top seven celebrity perfumes hit over $353 million dollars. Did you contribute to that number?

Love It or Hate It: The Return of Halle's Pixie

Over the weekend, Halle Berry debuted this darker-toned cropped pixie, very similar to the one she wore several years back. The Oscar-winning actress's locks seem to be getting shorter and shorter with each passing month. In recent times, we've seen Halle take some length off with a shoulder-skimming style, and just a few weeks ago, she opted for an even shorter above-the-chin bob.

Come to think of it, she's the master of change, wearing anything from blond fingerwaves to a flippy layered cut. I think this woman would look gorgeous with a paper bag on her head. Are you happy to see Halle going back to her roots, or do you prefer her with a longer and/or blonder look?

Halle Berry Joins the Celeb-Scent League

Seems like a new celebrity fragrance is launched each week, doesn't it? The latest A-lister to join the fragrant bunch is Halle Berry. WWD reports that the Oscar winner has inked a deal with Coty to launch her own scent early next year.

"She adds another dimension to the celebrity fragrance market," said Steve Mormoris, senior vice president of global marketing at Coty. "Halle has always been a little more mysterious, not quite as open with her personal life as some other stars. Her fragrances will allow her to present another facet of her personality to her fans."

What's surprising is that Halle's fragrances are starting out at what Coty calls "mid-tier" stores such as J.C. Penney. (I would have pegged her as more of a Nordstrom girl.) Think you'll have a little Halle, or are you over the celebrity fragrance trend?

Halle Berry Is a Curly Girly

Healthy Halle Berry was spotted leaving Whole Foods in Toronto yesterday, and I love this hairstyle on her. Lately, she's been wearing her hair long and straight, but these tight curls are a gorgeous change. My guess is that they're extensions, since she's known to wear them and it's a drastic difference from the length she sported just a few weeks ago.

If you don't have Halle's stylist on speed-dial, but you are blessed with beautifully natural curls, you can mimic her look by using a moisturizing leave-in conditioner such as Carol's Daughter Hair Milk ($12). Comb it through damp hair, and the nut oils and shea butter will keep curls frizz-free and shiny. (As for finding a handsome model beau and having an adorable baby girl like Halle, though, I can't help you.)

Let's face it, no matter how many different ways Halle Berry chooses to wear her hair, she's babe-a-licious. That body, that skin, that smile, that boyfriend (oops, got a little ahead of myself there). Over the years she's definitely played around with her look and the only one that I'm not crazy about is number one.

Halle baby, you are many things, but a blond isn't one of them. Every beauty gets one free pass though, right? I absolutely loved her hair when it was super short. She is one of the few women that can carry a pixie cut and still look gorgeous. What hairstyle do you like best on Halle?
