Whose Wavy Updo/Red Lip Combo Looked Better at the Emmys?

The similarities between Drew Barrymore and Hayden Panettiere's hair and makeup last night were shockingly similar, and judging by the comments you made for both Drew and Hayden in my love it or hate it polls, you noticed it, too. Besides the heavier-handed makeup application and the addition of a darker liner on Hayden, the two blond actresses could have passed for sisters or long-lost relatives with their matchy-matchy wavy updos and red lips. Even their eye colors and bronzy eye shadow shades bear a strong resemblance. But if you had to choose, which Emmy-goer gets your vote?

Hayden's all grown up, and she showed just how mature she can look with her hair and makeup this evening. Like a ton of other celebrities, she went with white eye shadow and generously enhanced eyelashes, but she also had her hair pulled back, with more volume at the top than the sides, which lengthens her face a lot. I love the color and shape of her bright red lip, but it might be a bit heavy given how made up the rest of her look is. How do you feel about it, though? Are you loving Hayden as a full-grown woman, or do you think she's aging herself more than she should?

Hello, Hayden. The Heroes and I Love You, Beth Cooper star went soft and sweet with a bubblegum pink lip and slightly undone updo. Do you dig her demipart and classically tousled chignon, or - like Fab's "Malibu Barbie" burn - do you find it just too much of a red carpet repeat?

There's no getting around the fact that Hayden Panettiere has flawless skin. She consistently wows on every red carpet. For instance, she shined at this year's Golden Globe Awards, where her makeup artist used Neutrogena Natural Radiance Bronzer in sunkissed. My bet is that she used something similar tonight. Beyond that gorgeous glow, her hair is simple and classic, and her eyes pop with the dark liner and lavender shadow. Are you digging?

Hayden Needs to Fire Her Translator or Spell Checker

Hayden may be enjoying life with no laments, but I'm wondering if she's beginning to rue her tattoo? Seems the cursive script is meant to read "live without regrets" in Italian but, as HuffPo points out, instead of "Vivere senza rimpianti," closer inspection proves it reads "Vivere senza rimipianti" with an extra "i."

All of you planning to ink up, let her be a lesson to you: it's permanent, and the one with the gun needs to be on board with the proper spelling. (See also: Chi-Tonw tattoos). Guess she couldn't see her back while it was happening, but imagine how angry I'd be with "I love Robert Pattenson" on my arm! Not that I'm planning on it . . .

How-To: Hayden Panettiere's Golden Globes Glow

Hayden Panettiere is a consistent hit on the red carpet, and most of you loved her makeup at the Golden Globe Awards. Makeup artist Amy Oresman created this look for the Neutrogena Natural Radiance Bronzer in Sunkissed, sweeping it through the crease of her eyelid, on her cheekbones, and down to her clavicle. To further warm up Hayden's face, she used a round brush to apply two shades of Neutrogena Soft Color Blush (Sunny Spice and Divine Wine) to the apples of her cheeks. If you like, finish with a soft tap of bronzer on your nose - you'll look as though you've just had an afternoon in the sun.

2009 Golden Globe Awards: Hayden Panettiere

If you're holding out for a hero, look no further than Miss Hayden Panettiere. She showed up on the Golden Globes red carpet looking, well, golden. From a makeup perspective, it's a look that she's done before: sun-kissed skin, pink-tinted cheeks and lips, and smoky, false lashes. But hey, it works for her. Where she really explored new territory was her hair. She took it all to one side with big, sweeping curls. I'm personally loving it, but I wish she had touched up the color at the roots. Other than that, pretty flawless. Do you agree?

How-To: Hayden Panettiere's Emmys Look

Judging from Sunday's poll, Hayden Panettiere's look was an overall "love it" at the 2008 Emmy Awards. And that skin? Seriously, I just might need to contact Hayden's facialist, dermatologist, and/or makeup artist.

Well, guess what? We're in luck, because makeup artist Amy Oresman, who was responsible for Hayden's flawless face, shared the lowdown on how to achieve her "flat-out glamorous look." She used Neutrogena products, as Hayden is one of the brand's spokespeople. Check out the how-to below and learn exclusive tips from Oresman on how to achieve Hayden's dark, dramatic eyes:

Cheeks: For her trademark sun-kissed glow, Mineral Sheers Bronzer ($10.79) was dusted around the perimeter of Hayden's face, hairline, cheekbones, and lightly down the bridge of her nose. To tie the look together, the powder was applied to neck and shoulders as well. Next, a light sweep of Healthy Skin Blends Sheer Highlighting Blush in Fresh ($10.95) was added to the apples of the cheeks.

Eye shadow: For a nude finish, Nourishing Eye Duo in Iced Coffee ($7.64) was applied on Hayden's lids, while the darker shade was swept into the contour.
Eyeliner: Use two brushes to turn eye shadow into eyeliner: a small, flat one for depositing color on the lid and a soft, fluffy brush. Oresman used the latter to, as she says, "carefully blend the seam between the smoke around the perimeter of the eye and the rest of the lid." Try Urban Decay Matte Eyeshadow in Perversion ($16), a matte black.
Mascara: "I used just a few individual lashes on the outside edges of Hayden’s eyes for her 'Rock the Red Carpet' look," says Oresman. "It elongates her eyes, creating a sultry, almond shape that’s both sexy and glamorous." Next, she coated the lashes with Healthy Volume Mascara in Black ($7.19). Then, she filled in the outer corner of her upper eyelid with a few individual lashes. "Generous layering of mascara is the key to amplifying the beauty of both natural and false eyelashes," Oresman says.
Lips: First, Lip Moisturizer ($3.89) was applied to keep Hayden's lips dewy and moist. For a sophisticated feel, Soothing LipSheers in Sparkling Nude ($8.09) was added for the final touch.
