Cherries and Manhattan cocktails are a natural pairing, but when it comes to hair accessories, do cherries and headbands make a similarly nice match? The folks at Topshop seem to think so. From the brand's Freedom at Topshop line comes this cluster of cherries headband ($30) that features a black fabric-wrapped base with an assemblage of the stone fruit glistening atop. It's quirky no doubt, and it could work as the perfect addition to any ensemble at the upcoming National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, MI. But all cherry jubilees aside, would you wear it - or is it the pits?

Mini-Hat Headbands: Cute or Cheesy?

I don't know what's behind it, but headbands with tiny hats are popping up all over. The top hat hair accessory trend has been around for quite some time, but the look has branched out to include all sorts of hats, like Urban Outfitters' bowler hat headband ($28), a teeny-tiny ribboned variation of the top hat headband ($18), and a cocktail hat headband ($28). There are plenty more, as well, with Forever 21 offering up some rather sparkly designs. What do you think of this trend? Do you tip your hat to it?

12 Days of Holiday Beauty: A Partridge in a Pear Tree

Traditionally, the 12 Days of Christmas begin on Dec. 25, and last until Jan. 5. That's a lot of celebrating, no? But since Christmas is just 12 days away, let's partake in a bit of preholiday revelry Bella-style. Using the classic tune "The 12 Days of Christmas" as inspiration for our anticipation, let's kick off this series off with the first day: a partridge in a pear tree:

Pantone's 2011 Color of the Year Is Honeysuckle

It's that time again. The color experts at Pantone have announced their color of the year. For 2010, it was all about turquoise, and we saw the blue-green hue everywhere from celebrity eyeliner looks to department store palettes to MAC's dazzling Alice and Olivia collaboration. And for 2011, the color is honeysuckle. The reddish-pink shade provides a nice healthy glow to the skin and is said to be alluring, engaging, and uplifting. "In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues," said Pantone's Leatrice Eiseman. Sounds good to me. Check out a few enlightening beauty options featuring the shade below:

For the hair: Ground the pink shade with a touch of black, like with Hype's Blair Feather Headbands ($38). For extra flair, Forever 21's Floral Mesh Satin Headband ($2) or Sequin Bow Pins ($3) will add just the right amount of impact.
For the nails: Try CND's Color in Smoothie ($7).
For the lips: For the a pink pout that makes a statement, how about some Paul and Joe Lipstick in Poppy ($20)?

When hair accessories are involved, there's a fine line between cute and kitschy. (The mistletoe headband comes to mind.)
