Loving the Hug of Their Curves

This week, the message in my neighborhood says one thing: people are going for it. There are more bikes and runners on my street, yoga mats have replaced takeout, and the gym is uncomfortably packed. Come January, this kind of behavior is pretty commonplace. The new year always seems to be the time when people set fitness goals, or at the very least, try to lose those extra holiday pounds.

But at a time when many of us are focusing on dropping the weight, Jennifer Lopez and Khloe Kardashian are declaring they love their extra little something to grab on to. I'll admit, it's refreshing to me when people in the public eye embrace their curves. It's nice to see that they aren't completely obsessed with their image, and I think it helps set realistic expectations to the public - especially since even the skinniest girls are getting airbrushed these days!

J Lo's El Cantante Hits Close To Home

J Lo and Marc have been side-by-side on their El Cantante promotional tour, but Jennifer went solo in some Fab shoes to The Today Show this morning. The movie is obviously near and dear to both Jen and Marc, but it's been especially important to her as the first film from her new company, Nuyorican Productions. She told Matt Lauer about why she chose this project in particular, "I always wanted this to be first because it’s a Latin story, because it does have music in it. I felt it just personified everything I’ve been about through my career." Well, considering the story is ultimately tragic, hopefully it's not about everything in her career, but it's always good to hear about stars' passion projects.

J Lo & Marc Help Fight Child Obesity

Jennifer showed off a touch of skin in NYC with Marc while the two continue to promote El Cantante. These two obviously love working together and it was just announced that during their upcoming tour one dollar for every ticket sold will be donated to help fight childhood obesity. Jennifer said in a Press Release, "When I was a kid, we spent most of our time outside visiting in the neighborhood with friends. This is the first generation of kids who are so sedentary and the first whose parents might outlive them. We really need to be active in encouraging healthy eating and the joys and fun of exercising." It sounds like she and Shaq have something in common.

J Lo Shows Her Abs on the Beach With Shirtless Casper Smart, Max, and Emme

Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart took advantage of the sunny weather on Sunday with a trip to the beach in Malibu. Jennifer's twins, Max and Emme, were along for the sandy beach day as was a nanny, who took pictures of the group. J Lo and Casper are back on the West Coast after a visit to NYC, where J Lo promoted her new reality series ¡Q'Viva! The Chosen. Casper was by her side during the press tour, which also took them to Miami for a photo shoot. J Lo broke down into tears on the balcony of her Florida hotel during the stay, and later shared that she was crying because she missed her kids. It looks like she was happy to be back with the little ones over the weekend as they played near the water. There will be even more to celebrate soon, since Max and Emme turn four years old later this month.
