Should Celebrities Talk About Botox?

The question shouldn't be, "Who in Hollywood has had Botox?" but "Who in Hollywood hasn't?" Getting an injection to decrease your wrinkles is extremely common among celebrities, but not too many of them like to talk about it. Nicole Kidman insists she hasn't had it, but recently Jenny McCarthy opened up about her thoughts on the 'tox. In Michigan Avenue Magazine, she says:

I think plastic surgery is fun if it makes you feel good. I'm all for looking better, so I plan on doing whatever I want when the time comes. I love Botox, I absolutely love it. I get it minimally, so I can still move my face. But I really do think it's a savior.

For some reason, the "I love Botox" line makes me think of Molly Shannon's joyologist impression ("I love it I love it I love it! Love it!") But seriously, folks, do you think celebrities should be open about their Botox use, or is it none of our business?

How To Get Jenny McCarthy's Politically Correct Makeup

On Saturday evening at the the White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington, DC, the one woman whose elegant evening makeup look stood out from the rest was Jenny McCarthy. Marcia Cross came in as a close second, while Pamela Anderson's hair and makeup looked unkempt and, frankly, rather trashy for such a conservative event.

Jenny has been looking fabulous lately. She's in great physical shape, she seems to be in love with Jim Carrey, and she's recently been playing around with shorter bangs. For product suggestions and application tips so that you can re-create Jenny's makeup look at home, read more.

FACE: Apply a generous amount of creamy, light coverage foundation like Giorgio Armani Face Fabric #2 to a clean, moisturized face and blend using a cosmetic sponge. Next, apply concealer around the nose and to any red or dark areas. Finish, by dusting your skin with a sheer powder such as Giorgio Armani Micro-Fil Loose Powder in #2.
CHEEKS: Smile, and then apply a pinky-tawny blush such as Color Intrigue Blush in Pink Glow by Elizabeth Arden to the apples of your cheeks and blend outward. Clean your brush on the back of your hand and blend again for a more subtle effect. Then, apply a liquid luminizer to the top of the blush (the high part of your cheekbones) and blend using the cosmetic sponge.
EYES: Begin by sweeping a bone-colored eye shadow all over the lid. Next, gently apply a black shadow in the crease and blend well. Line your upper and lower lashes with a creamy black eyeliner pencil. Tip: Make sure the pencil is sharp (you'll get a finer line and make fewer mistakes). Then, apply false lashes and coat with black mascara. Apply a little bit of white sparkle underneath the lower lashes; try Benefit Miss Popularity. Fill in your brows with a pencil that is one shade darker than your natural hair color. Clean up any fallen shadow with a Q-Tip and follow with a brightening makeup pen around your eyes.
LIPS: Line lips with a nude lip liner and then using a lip brush, apply a sweet pink lipstick like Pur Minerals Mineral Shea Butter Lipstick in Pink Isocite all over your. And skip the gloss - your creamy lips, powdery cheeks, and luminized face create a balanced and engaging multitextured look.

Originating in the 1920s, the bob is a short, blunt, and classic hairstyle in which the weight of the hair falls between the ears and chin. It can be styled with or without bangs and in various lengths, but a proper bob never grows past the shoulders.

This modern twist on the blunt bob has really taken off in Hollywood. It's a chin-length crop that's cut straight around the back, with a longer, angled layer in the front to frame the face. Do you think that Star Jones, Rihanna, Jenny McCarthy or Victoria Beckham wears it best?

News flash: The Beckham bob (and its many copycats) is on the way out. According to many superstar stylists like Garren, Ted Gibson and Tommy Buckett (who works out of Sally Hershberger and is a personal favorite), collarbone-length hair is where it's at for Fall. While some are going for conservative takes on the length, a la Gwyneth "GOOP" Paltrow, most of the stylists interviewed prefer a choppier version. According to the article, those who went for the power pixie are either growing it out to this length (Anne Hathaway, Jenny McCarthy) or snipping even shorter (like Katie Holmes and Beckham herself). The former is much more universally flattering (and weather appropriate). Will you go for it?

When Posh chopped her long locks into an angular platinum bob, she was a trendsetter. When Katie Holmes quickly copycatted the style, the bob craze was officially in full swing. And now Jenny McCarthy has updated hers by adding blunt bangs. I think it is a great cut for certain face shapes, but definitely not for everyone or every hair type.
