This time last year, Sandra Bullock was married to Jesse James and had yet to rock her new blunt-cut bangs. In her 2010 Golden Globes acceptance speech, she said about her husband: "I never knew what it felt like for someone to have my back, so thank you." So much has changed in a year. We found out Jesse cheated on Sandra and had a thing for women with tattoos, some of which were Nazi-inspired.

Today, Jesse announced that he's engaged to Kat Von D. In a statement that makes Sandra's Golden Globes acceptance speech only more heartbreaking, Jesse said: "2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love with my best friend." What about the trip to rehab and that teary interview about how much he missed Sandra?

Kat and Jesse had a whirlwind romance, but I'd be a little concerned about marrying a guy with such a recent history of infidelity. But I guess each relationship can be different. Have you ever given someone with a cheating past a chance to prove he can be faithful to you?

Kat Von D and Jesse James made a public display of their affections at Saturday's Art of Elysium Heaven Gala, and it turned out the duo had something more to celebrate than just the philanthropic cause. They're engaged, and Jesse confirmed the news today to People. He said:

"You know sometimes the public and press gets it wrong. This is one of those times. 2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love with my best friend. An amazing woman who stood behind me when the world turned their backs. I have never met anyone so kind and loving and committed to making the world a better place every day. My love for her is beyond description. So honored that she said 'yes.' Growing old with her is going to be a f----n' blast!"

He and Sandra made their divorce official back in June, but it was still ranked as 2010's most shocking split. Jesse and Kat seem to have had a whirlwind romance, so tell us what you make of their plans to marry - are you surprised or not capable of being shocked anymore?

Kat Von D's New Adora Perfume Is Pretty Sweet

The multiply tattooed Kat Von D already has two perfumes out (Sinner and Saint), but now she's bowing a third, called Adora ($55). I checked the bottle out because it's rather pretty and has metallic panels inspired by the art of famed Art Nouveau illustrator Alphonse Mucha.

When I actually got around to spritzing it, I was pleasantly surprised by the scent, too. It's a fruity floral, like most celebrity fragrances, but instead of the weak white musk most stars' scents use as a base, Adora dries down to a sweet, natural-smelling patchouli. While it's still a "blended" floral that's not recognizable as any real flower, it's heady and has none of the metallic undertones many similar fragrances do. If you love sweet, woody scents, consider giving this one a sniff the next time you're in Sephora.

Yesterday she told an LA radio station that people make mistakes, and she wouldn't want to be judged by hers. "I'm a believer that we're all human and we're all capable of making mistakes. . . . I think if I were to be crucified for my drug addiction three years ago now, it would be hard to live with that."
