How-To: Kate Winslet's Hair at the 2009 Oscars

Whether you loved it or hated it, Kate Winslet’s hair at the Oscars last night was like a work of art. Seriously, get a load of the texture, waves, and flawless finish. Would you like to learn how to get the now Oscar-winning actress's modern-day Grace Kelly style? You’re in luck. I’ve got the instructions directly from the stylist, Renato Campora of Frederic Fekkai below. And if you like Kate's makeup, too, here's the how-to so that you can get the complete Oscar-winning ensemble.

First, apply Fekkai More All-Day Density Styling Whip ($25) on wet hair.
Then, blow-dry the hair until smooth, using the Fekkai Extra-Large Round Brush ($65) to create volume.
Next, curl hair with a one-inch curling iron, and let set for about 20 minutes.
Brush through the style, and use Fekkai Coiff Magnifique Ultra-Light Finishing Creme ($23) on the ends to help roll the hair under.
Finish with Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray ($23).

How-To: Kate Winslet's Oscars Makeup Look

Oh, what a night for the freshly-crowned Oscar winner! Kate Winslet looked stunning in her one-shouldered YSL gown wearing classic, natural makeup created by artist Jillian Dempsey.

To keep the "it" gal of the evening looking fresh well into the night, Dempsey used Le Base Pro Makeup Primer ($42) under Kate's foundation to create that smooth stay-put finish. To see what else she used on Kate, take a look at the how-to when you read more.

Eyes: To frame Kate's eyes, Dempsey used Lancôme Modèle Sourcils Brow Groomer in Naturel ($21), playing up their natural shape. Next, Jillian Dempsey for Avon Pro Eyeshadow Trio in Ice Shimmer ($9) was used on the eyes, and Jillian Dempsey for Avon Pro Mascara in Black ($9.50) was swept on the lashes.
Lips: For a neutral, sheer lip, Lancôme Color Fever Shine Lipstick in Old Flame ($25) was applied. Va va voom!

Perhaps the favorite to win Best Actress for her role in The Reader, Kate Winslet arrived at tonight's Oscars looking ready for a win. She went classic with her hair pulled back in a style that is stolen straight from the golden years of yore. She went just as timeless with her makeup look. Her brows are stark, but she's softened the look with her ombre-shadowed eyes, pink pinched cheeks, and darker-hued lips. What do you think of Kate's overall style? Trend Alert: Cool-as-Ice Eye Shadow

Things got a little chilly - on the style tip, at least - at the 2009 Screen Actors Guild Awards. While the red carpet saw an abundance of cool-toned blue gowns, some actresses opted for cool-toned shadows. They ranged from subtle silvers, as seen on Emily Blunt, to bold blues à la Freida Pinto. One common theme? Regardless of whether the shadow has a matte or shimmery finish, this look dazzles best with complementary rosy- or pink-toned cheeks and lips.

Just as she was for the Golden Globe Awards, Kate Winslet is nominated for two different SAG Awards: one for her performance in The Reader, and the other for her performance in Revolutionary Road. For Kate, these accolades are not only well-deserved, but they contribute to her overall beauty. She is beaming tonight, and not just from the makeup, though her foundation is illuminating her skin nicely. As a whole, her makeup is pretty natural-looking, with the focus on the lavender eyes. I'm liking the look, although I wish her side part was a little less disheveled. What do you think of Kate's SAG Awards look?

How-To: Kate Winslet's Makeup at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards

A big winner last night (picking up Golden Globes for Best Dramatic Actress and Best Supporting Actress), Kate Winslet looked equally award-winning on the red carpet in her black YSL gown. As she accepted her statues, you may have noticed her lovely nails – that's Lippman Rhapsody in White.

Makeup artist Jillian Dempsey created this beautiful look for Kate Winslet. To find out how to re-create it at home, read more.

Eyes: Use a pencil eyeliner like Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Kohl Eyeliner to define the lash line. Dempsey chose black on the upper lash line, then a dark brown on the lower lashes and gently smudged both. Next, lightly dust the eyelid with a neutral shade like Lancôme Color Design Eye Shadow in Chic. Finish off the look with a couple coats of black mascara.
Lips: A subtle eye gives you more flexibility for a brighter lip like this classic red color – the exact shade Kate wears is Avon Pro-to-Go Lipstick in Cherry Glisten, but you should pick the best red to suit your complexion at home.

We haven't seen much of Kate Winslet 'round these parts recently, so it was a welcome surprise to see her at last night's premiere of her new movie, The Reader, in NYC - looking rather gorgeous, I might add. And as our British friends would say, it appears that she's been on holiday. The talented actress, who normally keeps her blond hair in soft waves with simply pretty pink or peachy-toned makeup, turned up the sexy factor to a 10+ with a tanned glow and va va voom style.Which way do you fancy Winslet? Beauty Byte: Kate Winslet Is the New Face of Lancôme Tresor

Recently, I shared a rumor that L’Oréal was considering Kate Winslet as the face of one of its brands. Turns out, the speculation was spot on: Today, Fashion Week Daily is reporting that Winslet will appear in the new ad campaign for Trésor, the popular fragrance from L’Oréal's Lancôme brand.

Winslet flew to Paris to attend a 300-person dinner tonight at the Musée Rodin, where the official announcement will be made. The guests will get a sneak peek at the new ad campaign and a TV spot, both of which will premiere in September.

When I think of Trésor, I always remember the stunning Isabella Rossellini, who was the face of the fragrance in the 1990s. Winslet is a worthy heir indeed.

In my opinion, Kate Winslet is one of the most beautiful and radiant women in Hollywood, so I hope this news turns out to be true. According to Women's Wear Daily, reports are circulating that L'Oréal may tap Kate Winslet as the face of one of its brands.

The Parisian beauty company is rumored to be in discussions with the actress about appearing in one of L'Oréal's advertising campaigns. A spokesperson for the company declined to comment.

Winslet has such flawless skin and great hair, it's hard to know what type of product she might end up modeling for. What do you guys think?
