Drop by Kiehl's to Help Hungry Kids This Weekend

What's the easiest way to turn shopping for skin care into a good meal for a child? If you're anywhere near a Kiehl's store on Saturday (May 14), just stop in and pick up a complimentary sample of the brand's new Line-Reducing Concentrate and the company will donate $1.50 to Share Our Strength, a nonprofit dedicated to ending child hunger in the US by 2015.

Over the weekend, Kiehl's will be donating up to $10,500, but its goal is to raise $75,000 through customer donations from May 14 until December 31. So if you're shopping at a Kiehl's store or online anytime for the rest of the year, consider making a donation when you check out. And if you need to refill your favorite Kiehl's products, definitely stop by your nearest store on Saturday to help a child and get a free gift, too.

Julianne Moore Named Kiehl's New Global Ambassador

Break out the white lab coats because Julianne Moore has just been announced as one of Kiehl's new Global Ambassadors, alongside Pharrell Williams and the Scissor Sisters. She's worked with Kiehl's before, helping to design limited-edition packaging for a charitable initiative last year, and now, she'll be helping to support Kiehl's Gives, a global philanthropic initiative.

In particular, Julianne will be backing Save the Children, an organization that serves youths in need.

"There are school systems where there isn't enough money for even the basics, where there is extreme poverty. I could see this even as a kid, so when I had the chance to make a difference as an adult, it was important to me to do so," Julianne explained to WWD. Julianne, who is known for her involvement with various charities, seems to make the perfect match for the socially conscious brand. Do you agree?

The Sartorialist and Kiehl's Team Up to Honor Fathers

Scott Schuman, the Sartorialist, has gotten together with Kiehl's to produce a bunch of beautiful Father's Day photos along with a limited-edition Dopp Kit for Men ($55) intended to please even the most foppish father. The photos Schuman has taken of fathers around New York City are absolutely gorgeous (and pretty ovary-melting, too). Check them out to see some adorable kids and seriously cute fathers.

Chloe Sevigny Teams Up With Kiehl's For Clean Water

Just in time for Earth Day, Kiehl's is teaming up with Chloe Sevigny and Michael C. Hall for a limited-edition run of its Rare Earth Cleansing Masque ($23). The actors designed labels for the pore-minimizing face mask, which uses fair-trade Amazonian White Clay to pull out dead skin cells and reduce oil. Better yet, this isn't one of those rinky-dink charity products that shares only a sliver of cash with a cause; Kiehl's is donating 100 percent of net proceeds to Waterkeeper Alliance, a group that campaigns to maintain clean waterways worldwide. 11 Things You Need to Throw Away

The first step to taking care of yourself and de-stressing is to make sure that your environment is in order. Seeing your house full of clutter can affect your mood negatively and make your personal space seem like a place you want to escape from, rather than something to look forward to coming home to. Organize a "throwing out" day every month to make sure that you don't have clutter building up. Here are some things you should consider purging from your home:

Old magazines. Get rid of old magazines you have lying around because chances are, you aren't going to read them again. Find places where you can donate your magazines to such as child care centers, doctor's offices, nail salons, nursing homes, and libraries. If there's an article that really speaks to you, scan a digital image of it and keep it in your computer. Or keep a folder of magazine clippings if you like saving magazine articles.
Receipts, bills, and documents. Throw away receipts for items that you aren't planning on returning, and ones that you won't need to use come tax time. If you're wary of throwing away receipts, you can make a digital copy of them with a basic scanner, a pricey specialized receipt scanner ($174), or a smartphone app ($2). Clothes. Use the two-year-rule for clothes - get rid of apparel that you haven't worn in two years. Sell them to a thrift store (find a thrift store at thethriftshopper.com) or donate them to the needy.
Books. Go through your bookshelf and gather together books you haven't touched in months and ones that you aren't planning on rereading. Be realistic and make sure you're ruthless. If you haven't touched it in a year, you're most likely not going to read it again. Sell the books on Amazon, Craigslist, or eBay. You can even trade them for something else on swap.com. You can always donate them as well!
Medicine and vitamins. Take a look at your medicine closet and clear out drugs that have expired, medicine that has sat on your shelf for too long, or ones that you no longer use. First, check to see what the proper disposal methods are for the medication, and if you can't find any, check to see if your community has a drug take-back program. If there isn't a program near you, then the FDA advises mixing medicine with "used coffee grounds or kitty litter" in a container or sealable bag before throwing it away to make the drugs less appealing.

In a continuation of its partnership with amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research, Kiehl's is going full speed ahead with charity endeavors. This weekend marks the start of the second annual LifeRide, a week-long motorcycle road trip to raise awareness and funds for amfAR. Kiehl's USA President Chris Salgardo will join stars including Jason Lee, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, and Tyson Beckford on the ride up the East Coast, which begins Sunday and ends Aug. 6. The riders will stop at Kiehl's stores with checks for amfAR totaling $75,000. Kiehl's to Open Spa 1851 in New York

Exciting news from Kiehl's: next month, the 160-year-old brand is opening its first-ever spa. Spa 1851, located on the second floor of a new store in New York City, will feature treatments for hair, skin, and body. Naturally, all will incorporate the same Kiehl's products that have earned a cult following - after all, what would a body treatment be without the classic Creme de Corps lotion? - but guests can expect added perks like customized, hand-blended masks used in facials.

The spa and men's grooming lounge, set to open mid-July, is likely to appeal to both women and men. It has a private entrance separate from the store, iPads for guest use, eco-friendly robes, and exclusive Havaianas sandals for wear during treatments. In building the spa, Kiehl's incorporated sustainable woods, subway tile accents, countertops made with recycled paper, and reclaimed tin ceilings. Kiehl's and Jeff Koons Team Up For a Blooming Good Cause

If you like having soft skin, looking at modern art, and being part of a great cause, then you'll absolutely love this news. Kiehl's is continuing its partnership with contemporary artist Jeff Koons with the release of its Creme de Corps Holiday collection. Inspired by the vibrant "Balloon Flower (Yellow)" sculpture from his "Celebration" series, 100 percent of the sales (up to $200,000) from the limited-edition offering will go to The Koons Family Institute, a branch of the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.
