I just found the new spot for L By Gwen Stefani, and just like Sarah Jessica's Covet commercial, there is whispering. (Weird, isn't it, how fragrance ads often involve whispering?) Upon third or fourth viewing, I was impressed by the consistent branding-check out the shape of the pool and the shape of the bottle. What do you think of it?

The first ad for Gwen Stefani's new fragrance, called L, has hit the 'Net, featuring Gwen herself looking quite a lot like "Cherish"-era Madonna. (Speaking of which, whose pale look do you prefer?)

The fragrance debuts exclusively at Nordstrom July 1 and rolls out in full this September. You can now pre-order the L by Gwen Stefani Spray at Nordstrom. The scent is available in a 1.7-ounce bottle ($55) or a 3.4-ounce bottle ($70). Gwen Does a Fashion Week Victory Lap With Kingston by Her Side

Gwen Stefani held her son Kingston Rossdale's hand last night following her L.A.M.B. presentation during Fashion Week in NYC. The designer has been in the Big Apple for the last few days, and her recent outing in head-to-toe plaid may have been a hint about the creations she sent down the runway. Her latest collection was full of the print, in addition to patterns inspired by rasta culture and London in the '60s. Kingston is veteran of the shows at this point, as he checked out Edun with his dad Gavin last season. He was also there for Gwen's 2011 Spring/Summer show, when he hopped out of his seat to personally congratulate his mom. Gavin wasn't in the front row this time, but Gwen's father Dennis was there to proudly cheer her on.

Inspired by the "1960s rogue girl with a Japanese street sensibility," Gwen Stefani chose to show off her latest L.A.M.B designs against a collage of black-and-white New York City street snaps and closeup shots of girls getting their eye makeup done, all while Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Were Made For Walkin'" boomed overhead. Each look seemed to reflect a moment in Gwen's iconic style evolution. Case in point: her "Hey Baby" houndstooth print made a serious comeback, landing on everything from sporty totes to bomber jackets; her "Sweet Escape" moto-edged attire popped up in zippered jacquard jackets; and those Clueless-worthy platforms? That's just a classic Gwen staple. While the outerwear was athletic and tough, the attention to feminine details was also spot on. Look to the Peter Pan collars, sexy Morgenthal Frederics cat-eye glasses, impeccably pleated circle skirts, and sheer knee-high nylons for proof of Gwen's girlier side. No matter how you spin it, this is an ultra-wearable lineup of '90s-cool gear with a hint of retro and a pop of graphic-print modernity.

Beauty Byte: Gwen Stefani Creates A Perfume

On Monday afternoon, Gwen Stefani detached herself from Kingston for a short time to unveil her very first fragrance called L (the L stands for love). She and Coty Prestige collaborated to create this scent, and together, they had a launch party at the Soho House in NYC where two Olympian swimmers performed water ballet.

The perfume is made from water hyacinth, white freesia, pear leaves, violet leaves, jasmine petals, rose, lily of the valley, sweet pea, orange blossom, frangipani blossom, peach skin, heliotrope flower and musk.

It will be available at Nordstrom in July and in other retail doors in September in two sizes: 1.7 oz for $55 and 3.4 oz for $70. There will also be a body lotion for $32, a shower gel for $30, and a solid perfume for $42.

The focal point of the bottle is a large gold cap of interlocking Ls, which pulls off to reveal an aqua interior. The underbelly of the cap has Rastafarian colors, red, yellow and green and the perfume has an aqua actuator.

The packaging of the box is a cheetah print cartoon with a black stripe and a stylized L. The inside of the box contains the tag line from the fragrance: "I want you all over me." This is a lyric from her song, "Crash."

It is said that she is working on five fragrances, but L will be the classic scent.

Both print and TV ads are in the works and they will both star Gwen. Apparently the TV shoot was quite chilly, which took place in a cold swimming pool from 9:00am to 7:00pm and made the taping a bit difficult. The print ads were shot in Ibiza and will begin running in magazines in September.

According to Gwen,

"It's sort of amazing to go from selling fragrances (that's what she did before she became a musician) to having one of my own. I certainly never expected it when I was selling Borghese and Ultima II at the Broadway!

I wanted this fragrance to be light, fresh and clean. I want people to say, 'I want to smell like that.' I'm kind of embarrassed by how much I enjoyed creating this fragrance. It's another way to say who I am. I love this one so much I'm not sure what I'm going to come up with for the next one."

Gwen Stefani Spends a Sunny Date With Zuma and Kingston

Gwen Stefani had a sunny afternoon out in LA with sons Zuma and Kingston Rossdale yesterday. The little ones linked up with friends at an outdoor birthday party at a park, where Kingston took a turn battering a piñata and Zuma learned how to ride his scooter. Gwen ventured onto a seesaw with Zuma, and also spent time chatting with her father. Gwen is keeping an eye on her little ones while husband Gavin Rossdale is off on tour with Bush. He's shared photos on Twitter of their adventures in South Korea, Indonesia, and Hong Kong. They're due to take the stage next in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and will then go to Australia. With Gavin on tour, Gwen stayed in California and skipped out on attending her L.A.M.B. Fall 2012 show during Fashion Week.

Gwen, Gavin, Zuma, and Kingston Split Their Weekend Between Parties and the Park

The Stefani-Rossdale family kept to a busy schedule this weekend with plenty of time allotted for outdoor activities. Gwen and Gavin took their sons, Kingston and Zuma, to a birthday party on Saturday. Yesterday they all went to the Malibu Country Mart to check out the playground, and later visited the Troutdale ponds for some fishing. The superstar parents have spent most of the new year close to home while Gwen keeps working on new music with No Doubt, and Gavin enjoyed a short break from touring. He resumes playing hits from Bush's new album, The Sea of Memories, this Friday when the band stops by The Tonight Show to perform their latest single, Baby Come Home. Gavin resumes touring next month on Feb. 14 in Taipei, Taiwan, while Gwen could be planning a trip to the Big Apple for this year's Fashion Week. The Fall L.A.M.B. collection is schedule to hit the catwalk on Feb. 11, however, last season Gwen missed the show due to studio and family commitments on the West Coast.
