I'm loving Christina Ricci's makeup look from the recent Spike Scream Awards in LA, and lucky for us, we've got the scoop on the perfectly rosy lip gloss shade she wore as a stain while presenting the Breakout Male Performance award to Twilight's Taylor Lautner. It's from Lancôme's new lollipop-inspired La Collection Lollipop ($35 per kit). Each limited-edition gift set comes with a Color Fever Gloss - Christina wore Ma Cherie Cherry - and a Le Vernis nail polish. Five dollars from each sale goes to the Anne Hathaway-backed Lollipop Theater Network, a nonprofit that organizes film viewings for very ill children and teenagers. People can't get enough of Chris Benz, and I have to say: his collection this season is dead sexy. I loved the soft, tousled curls he brought down the runway and the perfect peach (the color is everywhere for Spring, so watch out) lip on all his models. I've been dying to know how to get this look, especially the lipstick, and I was able to snag the scoop on the colors from the people over at Lancôme, who created this "refined '60s party girl" effect. It's actually really simple to do, and it's a runway style that definitely translates to everyday wear.

Lipstick Packaging Doesn't Matter - Except When It Does

When you buy a beauty product, much of your money goes to the costs of marketing and fancy packaging. It's just how it is, which is why I don't go for design alone in most cases. For some items, I don't care about aesthetics - it's not like my eye makeup remover has to be in a stunning bottle. And I don't care as much about eye shadow containers as I do about the product inside. But lipstick - lipstick is different. There's something pleasing about pulling out a well-designed tube, feeling the lipstick swivel up smoothly, and applying it like a sultry dame in a film noir.

So when I want to splurge on a lipstick, I go for either Lancome L'Absolu Rouge ($29) or Chanel Rouge Allure ($30). Both are softly scented, both go on like buttah, and both have packaging that is a pleasure to play with. Lancome's lipstick closes with a gentle magnetic click, and Chanel's sleek case has a cool push-button open/close mechanism. As far as Fall nail polish trends are concerned, I foresee lots of hot pinks, mushroom tones, smoky metallics, burnt oranges, deep, intense greens, and the return of purple - but with a little less smoke and a little more attitude. As far as textures go, think mattes, creams, and brushed, velvety finishes. But, if you're a fan of the shimmer, don't fret. There's plenty of sparkle to go around. Like most makeup collections, nail polish colors take inspiration straight from the runways, and since nails are a fashion accessory, after all, many of these recently launched polish shades come straight to us from the Fall catwalks. Let's just say I'm not bored.

Feeling Crafty? Name Lancôme's Newest Pout-à-Porter Lipstick

We've seen it with Tracy Reese and Sally Hansen, along with Emanuel Ungaro for MAC. And now, in the latest crop of makeup-inspired-by-runway collaborations, Lancôme's Pout-à-Porter lipstick is back. But this time, it's in the form of a name-that-shade contest.

Previously, designers Behnaz Sarafpour, Proenza Schouler, Peter Som, and Thakoon have all partnered with Lancôme, with some wildly popular results. Next up? Add designer Chris Benz to the mix. How-To: Alek Wek's Makeup at the Met's Costume Institute Gala

Model Alek Wek is a stunningly gorgeous gal, and at the age of 32, I swear the Sudanese native doesn't look a day over 20. How does she do it? To create her makeup look last night at the 2009 Costume Institute Gala, artist Oslyn Holder used all Lancôme products.

I'm loving how Alek's eyes are emphasized with a customized blend of black- and purple-toned shadows, set off by glossy burgundy lips. If you'd like to re-create this look at home, I've got all the details when you read more.

Eyes: Holder lined the upper lash line with Le Stylo Waterproof in Noir ($23.50) and blended Color Design Eye Shadow in Statuesque ($16.50) and Color Design Eye Shadow Backstage Pass ($16.50) on the eyelid. An application of Hypnôse Mascara in Deep Black ($24) finished off this feature.
Cheeks: To accentuate Alek's cheekbones, Holder used Color Design Cream Blush in Chic Cassis ($27).
Lips: A few swipes of Color Fever Gloss in Intense ($25) were applied to the lips to bring it all together. Simply stunning.

New Product Alert: Lancôme Génifique

This month, Lancôme is launching its biggest skin care product of the year. Génifique ($78) is a "youth activating concentrate" with ten years of research backing up its anti-aging claims. It promises to rouse genes, making them produce more proteins associated with young skin.

The whole "gene-awakening" thing sounded vague to me, which automatically made me a bit skeptical. (So many beauty products promise to transform skin into perfection, but - as you probably have experienced - that doesn't happen very often.) Lancôme gave me an advance sample of Génifique, and I have been using it for the past six weeks. To find out whether my lazy-ass genes are now up and at 'em, read more.

Lancôme insists that Génifique is not a serum, but that's a bit of a tomato-tomahto thing to me; the lightweight liquid comes out in a dropper and feels like most serums I've tried. (I'm just sayin'.) Using it is easy, which is great if you're busy/lazy like me. I spread two drops of Génifique on my face every morning and evening; it sinks into skin almost immediately, so then I follow with my normal moisturizer. There's no tingling or stinging or stickiness, which is nice.

About a week into my Génifique trial, I noticed that my skin tone was a little bit brighter. And then I plotzed because the little frown line in between my brows wasn't quite as deep as it had been. I kept an eye on that stinker for the following month, and while it hasn't disappeared completely, it's definitely not as noticeable as it used to be. I'm not a scientist, nor do I play one on TV, but whatever's in that bottle of Génifique has indeed had a positive effect on my skin. Color this skeptic pleasantly surprised.

How-To: Kate Winslet's Makeup at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards

A big winner last night (picking up Golden Globes for Best Dramatic Actress and Best Supporting Actress), Kate Winslet looked equally award-winning on the red carpet in her black YSL gown. As she accepted her statues, you may have noticed her lovely nails – that's Lippman Rhapsody in White.

Makeup artist Jillian Dempsey created this beautiful look for Kate Winslet. To find out how to re-create it at home, read more.

Eyes: Use a pencil eyeliner like Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Kohl Eyeliner to define the lash line. Dempsey chose black on the upper lash line, then a dark brown on the lower lashes and gently smudged both. Next, lightly dust the eyelid with a neutral shade like Lancôme Color Design Eye Shadow in Chic. Finish off the look with a couple coats of black mascara.
Lips: A subtle eye gives you more flexibility for a brighter lip like this classic red color – the exact shade Kate wears is Avon Pro-to-Go Lipstick in Cherry Glisten, but you should pick the best red to suit your complexion at home.

How-To: Angelina's Makeup at the Golden Globe Awards

Last night, Angelina Jolie stepped out in a devastating Versace gown and a dazzling smile. Although some of you say you'd like to see Angelina change her look from time to time, the same people admit that she doesn't really have a reason to do so - because she always looks gorgeous on the red carpet.

Makeup artist Mary Burton, working with Lancôme, created last night's look for Angelina. To find out how to recreate it at home, read more.

Face: Apply foundation and concealer where necessary. Use your fingers to dab Lancôme Color Design Blush in Model Mocha on the apples of cheeks.
Eyes: Use a pen eyeliner such as Lancôme Artliner in Noir to define the lash line. Start at the inner corner of the eye, staying close to the lashes, and blend outward. (If you've never used a pen eyeliner, keep the line straight by drawing a series of dots, then connecting them.) Line the outer corner of the lower lash line, too, gently smudging it. Burton used two mascaras - Courbe Virtuôse and Oscillation - to give Angelina's lashes volume and length.
Lips: Angelina's famous lips took center stage with a pale pink, sheer gloss. Burton used Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Spring Fling.

How-To: Anne Hathaway's Makeup at the 2009 Golden Globes

The majority of you were loving Anne Hathaway's red-lipped red-carpet look. And guess what? We've got the scoop from celeb makeup artist Kate Lee on how she created this "it" girl's classic look. Keeping the star's navy chiffon gown in mind, Lee focused on the eyes and lips for a striking effect. Check out the how-to below:

Eyes: After applying dark liner to the base of the lashes, Lee swept a dark shadow from the lash line upwards using a small brush. Next, Chanel Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Slate ($28.50) was applied to the crease and lower lash line. For the final touch, a Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler ($19) gave lashes some drama, along with several layers of Chanel Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir ($30).
Brows: For Anne's defined brows, Lee used Lancôme Le Crayon Poudre in Brunet ($23).

Complexion: For a fresh look, Lancôme Effacernes Concealer in Ivoire ($27.50) was applied under the eyes.

Cheeks: Once Chanel Powder Blush in Nude ($42) was swept on the cheeks, Lee then used Lancôme Absolute Powder in Absolute Peche ($52) to the top of the cheek bones, jaw, and clavicle.

Lips: Lee applied a neutral liner that matched Anne's lips, along with Chanel Hydrabase Lipstick in Lotus Rouge $28.50, making sure to blend any harsh lines.
