How-To: Lo Bosworth's Sweet and Sexy Makeup

Last night, Lauren Conrad debuted her Spring 2009 collection at LA Fashion Week, while The Hills co-star and buddy, Lo Bosworth, watched from the front row.

Lo, who managed to pull off the "hard core, but sweet" look with ease, chose a more demure pink gloss and blush to contrast with her edgy, heavily-lined black eye makeup. The good girl/bad girl combo - always a good mix.

For some suggestions on how to achieve Lo's style with only two multitasking products, check out my tips below:

Eyes - For dark and sultry eyes, try Stila Smudge Pot in Jet Black ($22), a nifty gel eyeliner and shadow. Using a liner brush, line the top and bottom lash lines. Next, tap in the product on your lids with your fingers (or a brush). Then, simply smudge.

Lips and cheeks - Pull a double duty with a shimmery pink cheek and lip duo. Try Vincent Longo Pearlessence Gel Stain ($22.50) in Bellini Love or Dolceacqua, depending on your skin tone.

Trend Alert: Laid-Back Layers

In case you're wondering how the young trendsetters in Hollywood are wearing their hair, look no further. Long bangs with layers in the front styled in a partly straight, partly casual beachy wave are very SoCal right now. This proved to be the most popular style at the LG Launch of the Scarlet HD TV Series Party. Lindsay Lohan, Lo from The Hills and Emmy Rossum were among the many ladies who have cut a few face-framing fringes. What do you think of this laid-back look?

How-To: Lo Bosworth's Teased Chignon

Yesterday at the Lauren Conrad LA Fashion Show her BFF and new roomie Lo Bosworth (also of The Hills) styled her hair in a chic, teased chignon. The teasing gives height to the crown and sides of her head (which gives symmetry and balance to an oval face). To learn how to re-create this fashion-forward look at home, just follow my directions.

STEP 1: Begin with damp hair. (If your hair hasn't been washed in a day or two, that's even better - just spritz it with water.) Then add about two fist-sized amounts of mousse to your hair and distribute it evenly. Use a large round brush to blow hair dry, directing the hair away from the face.

STEP 2: Tease the crown of your hair in three sections: left front, center, and right front. As you finish each section, spray the back of the hair with hairspray to ensure hold. When you are finished, very gently brush the front of the hair backwards.
STEP 3: Grab all of your hair at the nape of your neck and secure with an elastic (and make sure the elastic is tight).
STEP 4: Twist your ponytail and then wrap it into a bun around the base of the ponytail. Secure with hairpins as you go so that it has support in various locations; this keeps it from unwinding. When you're near the end, fold the ends under the bun, and secure by criss-crossing two hair pins. As a finishing touch, smooth your hands over the bun to loosen any stray hairs. This keeps the style modern, fresh, and not overly "done" - just like Lo's!
