2009 Grammy Awards: LeAnn Rimes

It looks like LeAnn Rimes hair stylist could have reached for Bumble and bumble's Surf Spray to create her sexy, beach-y waves. It's the perfect style to complement her gently sun-kissed tan. And though it seems a little more pretty than rock-and-roll chic, LeAnn pulls it off. Her makeup is just as simple and lovely. She wears a pale pink lip with barely there cheeks and a little blue and gold shimmer at the eyes. But my favorite thing? Her bold eyebrows. What do you think of LeAnn's look?

How-To: LeAnn Rimes' CMT Awards Makeup

Last night at the 2008 Country Music Television Awards, LeAnn Rimes looked like she could have been walking down the red carpet in the 1940s.

Old Hollywood glamour never goes out of style and I am happy to see this singer taking some beauty risks. I love the hair, I love the lips, her skin is perfect, but those brows are just a tad unruly and dark.

FACE: LeAnn's skin is naturally pale with a hint of pink undertones. Begin with a clean face that is well moisturized. Then, add a green-tinted concealer to any visible red spots so that you don't draw attention to them. Next, blend a bisque-colored foundation into your face and neck. Finally, add concealer under your eyes and to any areas that are still pinkish.
CHEEKS: Dust a deep-pink blush such as Dessert Rose by MAC to the apples of your cheeks and blend outwards. Do not overdo the blush. Remember, you are skipping bronzer, so too much blush will just make you look like a clown. Next, dust a loose powder (it should match your foundation) over your entire face, paying close attention to your t-zone.
EYES: Begin by sweeping a bone-colored shadow all over your lid. Then use a golden-bronze shimmery shade like Honesty by MAC just above your lash line and blend it into the crease. Line your upper lashes with black liquid liner, add a few false lashes to the corners of your eyes and then finish with two coats of mascara. For your brows, be sure to fill them in so that they are slightly darker than your hair, but remember to blend well. Tip: Dab a tiny bit of ice-colored highlighter in the inner v of your eyes for a little extra sparkle.
LIPS: Since lips are the focal point of this look, it's important to find the best possible shade to suit your skin tone. It looks to me like LeAnn applied a slightly orange creamy color like Rouge Dior Replenishing Lipcolor in Action Red and then applied a golden or transparent gloss on top.

Love It or Hate It? LeAnn Rimes' CMA Look

It's been so long since LeAnn Rimes first burst onto the country scene, but at the Country Music Awards, she showed that she's no longer a teenage crooner. She's all grown up, wearing soft hues (I can't wait to see what Fab thinks about that dress) and lovely curls. Not to be nitpicky, but I would love to see her brows just a shade lighter--but really, with that kind of smile, I'm sure nobody's looking at her brows.
