The show's beauty teams aren't afraid to experiment, and they've created some truly divine looks that we should all be adding to our repertoire. So we can all seduce the Chuck Basses in our lives, I've put together my favorite hair and makeup from this season so far, and broken down the shades and techniques used to get them. Here we have Leighton Meester rocking what can only be described as a slightly edgy porcelain doll look. To add drama to her white-toned frock, the young actress accentuates her sultry look with a bright pop of ruby red lipstick and a truly smoky eye. I'm digging how the blush takes on both pink and coral tones, and as for her hair, you'll have to tell me what you think about the tousled updo. Of the young Hollywood crowd, I've always thought of Leighton Meester as one of the more sophisticated of the bunch. Perhaps it's because she usually stuns with a grown-up wardrobe and sexy makeup palette that's not too over-the-top. But tonight, has the lovely Leighton gone a bit more Dynasty with her big hair and lots of liner? And for some reason, her pout looks a little more pouty than normal, no? Anyone else getting an Ashlee Simpson meets Alicia Silverstone kind of vibe? Tell us what you think. Trend Alert: Bold Golds at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards

Whether it was a subtle shimmer like Emma Roberts's, a bold, rich shade like Jordana Brewster's, or a mellow yellow version à la Leighton Meester, we saw lots of gilded beauties on the runway at last night's Teen Choice Awards. Notice how each of the women kept it simple with varying shades of nude and pink on the cheeks and lips. What do you think of these golden girls? Do you like bold golds in your everyday looks, or do you prefer to save the precious metals for special events?

It's official: My girl crush on Leighton Meester knows no bounds. In the September issue of Harper's Bazaar, she talks about getting older. "Any fear of aging, I think, is simply vanity," she says. "Because what comes with age is so many wonderful things: wisdom, understanding. . . . Every year, I'm always happy to be done with the previous age." We need more level-headed ladies to share such sentiments (more here). What's more, Terry Richardson photographed her (and the magazine's retouchers tweaked her) to estimate how she'll age. It's a clever concept that I'd be interested in. Given the chance, would you want to see how you might look in the decades to come?

How-To: Leighton Meester's MTV Movie Awards Makeup

Has Leighton Meester ever had a red carpet misstep? Well, sure, probably - but I haven't seen it yet. At last night's MTV Movie Awards, she looked simultaneously cute and sexy, a combination that isn't as difficult to pull off as it may seem. Makeup artist Molly R. Stern shared the steps to getting Leighton's look. For the step-by-step instructions, read more.

Skin: Molly applied Clé de Peau cream foundation ($118!) in O20. For blush, she used Shiseido Accentuating Powder Blush ($29.50) in Glistening Brown.

Eyes: Molly used Vincent Longo liquid eye shadow in Midnight Mauve ($24) as a base over the eyelid. Then, she brushed NARS eye shadow in Night Clubbing ($22) into the crease of the eyelid. Both top and bottom lash lines were lined with CoverGirl Exact Eyelights Brightening Liner in Vibrant Pearl, which launches in July. A few swipes of CoverGirl LashBlast Luxe ($7.99) on the top lashes brought attention to Leighton's eyes.

Most of you prefer Leighton as a brunette over a blonde, but this color seems somewhere in the middle. Her hair is pulled back with no loose ends . . . and no Blair-inspired band either. (Maybe she's too busy being lovey-dovey to deal with headwear.) Pink lips, sparkling eyes, and bronzed cheeks complete this beauty look. Are you a fan?

The Met's Costume Institute Gala: Leighton Meester

Leighton's look might seem silly, but in all seriousness, she decided to take a risk tonight, and that's what the Costume Gala is all about (did you see Madonna?). So I applaud the effort. She really tried to match her overall look to her costume-y ensemble, and for that she succeeded. Knowing that this is an extravagant gala, are you liking her look? Or do you prefer Lively?
