Reader Review of the Day: Wet 'n' Wild H2O Proof Liquid Eyeliner in Ultra Black

Recently reader Nakeeyark was in a pinch. A "Buy Two, Get One Free" sale at her local drugstore prompted her to try out Wet 'n' Wild's H2O Proof Liquid Eyeliner in Ultra Black ($4). She was impressed with this basic black shade, and here's what she had to say:

"I'm not a huge fan of liquid eyeliner. I much prefer MAC's gel Fluidlines. However, I needed some black eyeliner as I didnt have any to wear with my red lipstick. The staying power is unbelieveably good, and the black is a true black - no blue or brown to be found. I think the brush part of the handle is a tad too long, making it kind of difficult to apply the eyeliner, so I will probably cut the brush into a slant. For the price, however, this can't be beat."

Doing Drugstore: Revlon ColorStay Liquid Liner

Have you ever used a product so long that it seems almost unnatural to have a makeup case without it? That's how I feel about this eyeliner, one of my first makeup purchases ever as recommended by the now-defunct YM magazine.

Although over the years, I've splurged on pricier liquid liners that I love as well, I have to give credit to this standout. Just as many of you love the ColorStay pencil, this is another amazingly longwearing product by Revlon. No matter if my day includes a trip to the gym, night of dancing, or just the day of work, there's always still a visible line on my eye when I get home to wash it off.

When I want a dramatic line on my eyes, I trust this one to let me get super close to my lash line with the tiny point I've mastered so well over the years (the one negative for beginners, I'd say) and don't think you can get anything better for this price – do you agree?

Get The Most From Your Makeup: Liquid Eyeliner

Jane Richardson, a makeup artist for Nars, gave me a great insider tip about liquid eyeliner. Did you know that it could also double as mascara? Since liquid eyeliner comes in so many more shade options, you can now have endless possibilities for mascara colors too!

When you've finished with your tube of mascara, don't throw out the wand. Thoroughly wash it off with soap and water, dip it into your liquid eyeliner and apply to your lashes! It dries quickly and lasts just as long as mascara. After you're finished, wash the wand off again and store it in a Ziploc baggie.

Welcome back to part two of Fantastic Felt-Tip Eyeliner Pens. In part one, we saw a mix of designer and drugstore brands. Today we take a peek at a couple of waterproof eyeliner pens.

Physicians Formula Eye Definer ($6.95) is a felt-tip eyeliner that glides on super smooth without any skipping or slipping. This pen has a little bit of a bigger tip to create a heavier line. I can't say for sure that it's 100% waterproof (I think it's more water-resistant) but it stays on for 24 hours and doesn't smear. It's also hypoallergenic and fragrance-free. It is available in ultra black, warm black and dark brown.

Beauty Marked! Liquid Eyeliner

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Thanks for all of your excellent suggestions for last week's Beauty Mark It challenge. You found some good ones! Before I share them, though, I want to address some of your questions about liquid liner.

Practically nobody gets liquid eyeliner right on her first try-or for that matter, her second, third or fourth try. While this product isn't impossible to master, it does take practice to get to a point where you can apply it easily. If you're a novice, start by using the liner brush on your hand; that way, you can see how different pressure works. From there, you can work on your eyes.

If you need some liquid eyeliner suggestions, read on. Erinjg says Almay liquid eyeliner is "wickedly long-lasting, yet has never irritated my contact lenses." And Jlgb4008 raves about Wet N Wild MegaLiner, saying, "It has fine-tip brush, so it's easy to apply thick or thin lines easily." Beauty Mark It! Liquid Eyeliner

You already know that heavily lined eyes are hot for fall. But to get them, you'll need dexterity with liquid eyeliner. I used to be scared of using this glam product, but it turns out there's nothing to be afraid of. With a little practice, it's just as easy to apply as a pencil liner (and a lot easier to draw your skin, I think).

Get the Look: Nicole Richie's Summer Night Makeup

Pregnancy rumors aside, Nicole Richie glowed at last night's Center Dance Arts pool party in Beverly Hills. This is a perfect "now" look for Summer nights, because it incorporates a number of the season's big trends, including nude lips and glowing skin. With her heavily lined eyes, the overall effect is at once dramatic and light enough for a warm night.

Don't forget to create your own celebrity beauty look in this week's TeamSugar challenge. Now, here are the essential elements you need to recreate the look.

Glowing skin. Use one of these multi-purpose face highlighters, alone or over foundation, to get a subtle all-over shimmer.
Pink cheeks. A peachy-pink blush, such as The Balm Hot Mama ($18), will give your face a natural-looking flush.
Nude lips. Replicate this shiny hint of color with a nude lip gloss, such as Georgio Armani Shine Lip Gloss in Shade #6 ($21).

Dramatic eyeliner. For this look, you'll need a liquid liner, such as Bourjois Liquid Liner in Black ($15.50), with a tip you can easily manipulate to get a finer or wider line.

Today's user review comes from JessNess, who truly has a gift for liquid eyeliner. Here, she writes about one of her personal favorites: L'Oreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner ($8.29). I love, love, love, love this liner. It is one of the best liquid liners I have come across. It says on all day yet washes off easily. I originally bought it in a color called Houndstooth, which was a nice, warm dark brown. However, I just ran out, and it was part of a limited-edition collection.

So I went to Kmart today to buy toilet paper (my life is so glamorous) and thought that I should pick up a new liner. I ended up buying it in two colors.

The first color is Earthen Rock Brown. This is a really nice brown, and it's a flat color, so it is good for day-to-day wear The second color is Mineral Grey. It is a a dark gray that contains a bit of sparkle to help pick up the light. That way it is not too dark, but the sparkle is not overpowering or obvious, which is nice.

I really like the felt tip brush, as it glides really nicely, and the brush holder sits in my hand well. This is not the best example of my handiwork with a liquid liner since I was in a rush:
