Goodbye Old Friend: L'Oreal Black Cherry Lipstick

After GiggleSugar read about the new Morbid Makeup trend, she looked over at me, shrugged and said, "Of course my signature L'Oreal Shine Délice Lipstick in Sheer Black Cherry has been discontinued now that deep reds, purples and maroons are officially back in style".

Poor Giggle! Although she was smart enough to stock up, she had to toss a few tubes once she realized how old they were. It stinks when your favorite product gets the kibosh, but before you go blasting Beyonce's Irreplaceable tune, I've done my best to match her L'Oreal shade with lipsticks that are still in production. Recently we heard that Kate was being considered for a new campaign for L’Oréal and now it's been confirmed. Kate flew to Paris this week to attend a dinner where it was announced that she is the new face of Trésor, the fragrance from L’Oréal's Lancôme Paris. Too bad we have to wait until September to see what we believe will be a classy beautiful campaign.

Beauty Byte: L'Oréal Considering Kate Winslet?

In my opinion, Kate Winslet is one of the most beautiful and radiant women in Hollywood, so I hope this news turns out to be true. According to Women's Wear Daily, reports are circulating that L'Oréal may tap Kate Winslet as the face of one of its brands.

The Parisian beauty company is rumored to be in discussions with the actress about appearing in one of L'Oréal's advertising campaigns. A spokesperson for the company declined to comment.

Winslet has such flawless skin and great hair, it's hard to know what type of product she might end up modeling for. What do you guys think?

My Makeup Routine: CocoChic

Over in the Beauty Product Junkies group on TeamSugar, the members have been posting step-by-step breakdowns of their daily makeup routines, complete with before and after photos. What brave souls!

Step #1: I start off with Cetaphil Facial Cleanser and Cetaphil Facial Moisturizer. My skin is really dry, and this is only cleanser that doesn't make my skin look like it's going to fall off my face after I wash with it. Step #2: Ok, next, I use L'Oreal True Match Concealer (the lightest warm shade) and NYC Concealer in Light under my eyes and all of the splotchy little spots, respectively. Then I use BE SPF 15 Light 2 all over. I use Benefit's Georgia all over for a peachy glow and I use Cover Girl Soft Mink blush. Ah! Getting better! Step #3: Next, I go to my eyes. I put the second lightest color in the Revlon Not Just Nudes palette over my whole lid and the lightest color in the inner corners a bit. I curl those lashes and use Sephora Volume Mascara in Black on top only. Then I line the bottom with the dark brown end of Rimmel Eye Twist. Step #4: Almost done! I use a different lip gloss all of the time, so I just chose one from the pile. In this I have on Milani Glossy Tubes in Bermuda Bronze. Here's CocoChic's before and after shot. Beauty Byte: Skin Care Drink by Coke and Loreal

Coca Cola isn't exactly a brand known for healthy drinks. But that may change as of 2008, when the multi-billion dollar company and the popular makeup line, L'Oreal are expected to launch their tea-based skin care drink called Lumae. Come 2008, don't go searching for the drink in the aisles of 7-Eleven or Trader Joe's, as it's rumored that it will only be sold in department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue. Lumae will be aimed at "active, influential, image-conscious women over the age of 25 who embrace health and wellness."

I absolutely love my Coca Cola but I don't know if I believe that Lumae will give me beautiful skin. Are you a believer?

Eva and Eduardo Are Loved Up on a Late Night Flight

Eva Longoria and boyfriend Eduardo Cruz were together to catch a Qantas flight out of LAX last night. They're frequently on the go, whether visiting her friends in Miami or his family in his native Spain. Eva headed out of town following a busy week in LA. She tweeted a picture of herself and costar Felicity Huffman on the Desperate Housewives set, as well as images from an event with First Lady Michelle Obama on Wednesday. In addition, Eva shot a new ad for L'Oreal's Preference last Saturday. Eduardo, meanwhile, is busy with a project of his own. He wrote on Twitter about focusing on electronic music.

Rachel Weisz Latest Star to Get Banned by the ASA

What do Julia Roberts, Christy Turlington, and Twiggy have in common? They've all been the subjects of the UK's tougher-than-nails Advertising Standards Authority. And now, Rachel Weisz is a member of the exclusive group, as earlier today the ASA banned an ad featuring the star because it "misleadingly exaggerated the performance of the product [L'Oréal's Revitalift Repair 10]."

According to the regulatory agency, the magazine advertisement had "been altered in a way that substantially changed her complexion to make it appear smoother and more even." Not surprisingly, L'Oréal was disappointed with the ruling.

While the beauty brand admits to shooting Rachel with soft focus, low resolution, and plenty of lighting, it still stands behind its ad. "We believe that the image in the advertisement is a true representation of Rachel Weisz," a representative said in a statement. "The product claims are based on extensive scientific research which proved that the product improves 10 different signs of skin aging." It's a slap on the wrist for L'Oréal, but do you think the postproduction was taken too far?
