If you don't believe that big hair is back, here's pouf — er, proof. Last night at the Hollywood Awards, the always-soignée Hilary Swank appeared wearing a bouffant worthy of Ladybird Johnson. (Hers wasn't even the only crunchy-meets-sleek look of the night, just the most voluminous.) Hilary's long been known for a certain brand of demure elegance, and while this look was certainly classy, it was also a lot more formal and constructed than we usually see her hair.

I have to confess that I've always had a bit of a girl crush on Alice Cullen's bobbed and flippy hairstyle in Twilight. Ashley Greene, however, the actress who plays the stylish, friendly vampire in the series, has been sporting a longer, less feathered layered bob in real life, and she sure has the chic look down pat. However, now that Eclipse is pretty much wrapping up, the actress is back to her long roots, as she debuted new extensions at the U2 concert in Pasadena yesterday, courtesy of Parlour on 3rd's Essly Powell, who worked with Ashley for nine hours to achieve this new look.

Whether she's wearing white nail polish or silvery-white locks, I think we can all agree that Gwen Stefani is truly adventuresome with her beauty looks. Last night, at the Fashion Group International's annual Night of Stars, she was a blast from the past, walking the red carpet with a '60s-inspired look. Gwen's bouffant hair, which was paired with paled-out lips, highly emphasized brows, and super-thick black liner, is atypical of her look, which usually has a bit of a rocker twist.

We're used to seeing Rachel with her pretty cocoa-colored hair worn loose and wavy, but last night at the Lucky and Madewell party, she went for something a little different. She wore this messy knot at the top of her head, leaving the hair she'd pulled back lumpy, and center-parting the front section. Rachel's gorgeous, and it's good that she doesn't feel stuck with one hairstyle, but what do you think?

In a recent SNL appearance, Scarlett Johansson was singing the praises of porcelain fountains, complete with pouffy hair and shiny makeup. And at Moet & Chandon's Tribute to Cinema early today in Tokyo, we saw her once again wearing some pouffy hair and shiny makeup — but this time, it had a more polished perspective.
We've seen Scarlett in minimal makeup, and we've seen her heavily done up, but when it comes to her sweet and smoky palette from earlier today, do you think the look has just the right amount of oomph factor, with the balance of pinks and charcoal grays, or is it just too overwhelming?

Padma Lakshmi has that mom-to-be glow these days, and she's sporting a sleek new hairstyle, too. While we're used to seeing her with hair that's either in big, beautiful waves or swept back in a variety of updos, last night at the Made In Italy party, she went for thick bangs split in the middle. Padma's so pretty that anything, really, would look great on her, but do you think these bangs are a flattering new look, or a faux pas?

Last night at the Nomads Two Worlds Art Preview in Melbourne, Fergie arrived with hair that looked like a piece of sculpture, with a big, curled forelock and a couple of minibuns, as well as what I can only assume are extensions in a fall down her back. Fergie is a beautiful woman, obviously, and she's never afraid to go bleeding-edge cool, but what do you think? Is this look experimental, runway haute, or is it just too much thrown together?

We're used to seeing actress Olivia Wilde, who plays Thirteen on House, with smoky eyes and smooth, carefully styled hair. But yesterday at the Power of Women Luncheon, she went from sexpot to natural woman. With a seemingly bare face and totally unfussy hair pulled back into a normal-girl ponytail, Olivia clearly doesn't need a pile of eyeliner to look pretty.

So now that New York Fashion Week has ended, London Fashion Week is in full swing, and things are a little wackier across the pond. Models at the Jeremy Scott show walked with Pebbles-style top ponytails and bones in their hair while wearing Flintstones printed clothing. What do you think of this look—is it all in good fun, or should Jeremy have left it back in the Stone Age?

For Jenna Fischer's look this evening, it's her lightly braided updo that takes center stage. Notice how her honey-toned highlights are perfectly placed, peeping out in all the right places. She keeps her makeup in the pink color family, which creates a harmonious effect.
