If you are ever having a tough day, Mary J. Blige's Twitter feed might perk you up. It's usually uplifting without being schmaltzy - much like her American Music Awards look is elegant without being matronly. How could it be with that daring hairstyle and dramatic eye makeup? While the visible lip liner isn't my favorite choice, everything else looks pretty hip to me. What do you think of this look on her?

Mary J. Blige to Launch Her Own Fragrance

For celebrities, having your own perfume is considered a lucrative rite of passage, so it's somewhat surprising that Mary J. Blige hasn't had a signature scent before now. She's developing a fragrance with Brooklyn-based beauty brand Carol's Daughter.

Set for a release sometime next year, her My Life fragrance borrows its name from her second album. No word on what the juice will be like, but this is one scent that might get some hands-on attention. “Ever since I was a child, I loved buying products that made me feel beautiful and clean,” Mary said to WWD. “I’m a total beauty nut - you should check out all the junk in my bathroom.”

The world needs another celebrity fragrance about as much as it needs another reality show, but somehow, I'm rooting for Mary J. She's always seemed so strong and smart (and sexy!) - and although I'm kinda meh on the scent name, here's hoping for her success.

Love It or Hate It? Mary J. Blige's Fashion Rocks Look

Mary J. Blige sported a slightly shorter hair style than she had just a couple of days ago, so her smoky eyes really stand out. Her navy shadow looks better with her blue gown than severe black would have. Paired with an ultra-glossy lip and a coral blush, she's got a classic diva look going on with a little twist. Is it working for her?

Love It or Hate It? Mary J. Blige's Costume Institute Gala Look

Mary J. Blige is cool. She's got the It haircut, she's got the style to rock green eye shadow, and yet something here just doesn't add up. And by "something," I mean her blonde hair. Mary has worn blonde shades before, but this isn't quite as flattering. Still, the woman has attitude to spare. What about you?

Mary J. Blige has had many hairstyles over the years, but I've chosen to highlight a few looks from her blonde era over the past year and a half. On the far left, we see her with long and sleek locks at a 2006 Grammy nominations event, then she goes a little shorter but opts for more volume at a People Magazine Post Party. A few months later, she chopped her hair into the widely popular angled bob at the 2007 AMAs , and a few weeks ago we saw her at the CNN Heroes Tribute with a Louise Brooks Bob. Which haircut do you find the most flattering on Mary?

Love It or Hate It? Mary J. Blige's American Music Awards Look

I have no hateration for Mary J. Blige. (Nor drama.) I do, however, have an issue with this obvious lip liner on her. It's just not a flattering look, in my opinion.

What is flattering, though, are the highlights in her hair. Blond hair isn't always easy to pull off if you aren't born with it, but Mary's blond brings out the glow of her skin. So tell me what you think: Are you loving this look on Mary, or do you want to pass her a tube of Viva Glam to help with that liner?

Trend Alert: The Louise Brooks Bob

I can only imagine the joy that Anna Wintour must be feeling now that her signature haircut is setting trends. As they say, fashion, beauty, and history are cyclical and this time around, Anna is ahead of the game. This hairstyle is sometimes called the pageboy, and its first swell of popularity started with actress Louise Brooks.

This short, chic style especially flatters those with round and square face shapes. I wonder how long this trend will last, but with Katie Holmes and Mary J. Blige on the bandwagon, something tells me more A-listers will follow suit soon.

Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga Get Lippy

Following in the footsteps of people such as Ru Paul, Fergie, and Mary J. Blige, Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga are the next faces of the MAC AIDS Fund. Founded in 1994, the fund has raised more than $150 million to support AIDS research, treatment, and prevention initiatives.

MAC plans to release two lipsticks (Viva Glam Gaga and Viva Glam Cyndi, natch) in March 2010. Every cent of sales of the $14 lipsticks will be funneled to the MAC AIDS Fund. I'll also wager that there will be events and performances galore, so if you're a fan, you're in luck. I think both Gaga and Cyndi are great choices for the campaign. Do you?
