Trend Alert: The No-Makeup Makeup Look

Looking fresh-faced and made-under is the look of the season. Although it appears to be effortless, there's still plenty of makeup needed to create this "naturally" gorgeous glow. The look, as seen on these models and socialites, is easy enough to create and will certainly shave minutes off of your beauty routine. Here are a few tips and product suggestions to help you achieve this look at home.

Above all, it is important to begin with a bright and flawless face. Begin by applying a brightening cream to your skin and follow with a creamy concealer and eye brightener. A gel cheek stain or creamy peach blush will add a natural and beautiful flush to your cheeks. On your eyes, you'll want to skip mascara altogether and simplify your look by curling your lashes for a wide-eyed effect. Lastly, coat your lips with a clear or tinted moisturizing lip balm. Easy, isn't it?

Trend Alert: Natural Makeup and Glowing Skin

Summertime means increased humidity and low-maintenance makeup. So it's no surprise that so many celebrities were stepping out this week wearing very natural, dewy looks. First, there was Jessica Biel at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards, then Kate Bosworth glowed at the Whitney art benefit, and Helena Christensen showed up at Cartier's LoveCharity event looking shiny and new.

It's easy to get the look using multi-purpose face highlighters. Here are a couple of my favorite products to help create a dewy glow.

Candlelight Cream Colour by La Bella Donna ($65) is an all-over face gloss that creates a beautiful illuminating look. You can apply it on your eyes, cheeks, lips, or decolletage for a little bit of sexy glimmer.

New Product Alert: Smileage Plus Liptint from Origins

I'm a big fan of natural beauty products, especially when it comes to makeup that goes on my mouth. Chemical-free and 95-percent organic, the new Smileage Plus Liptint from Origins ($10) is best described as a cross between a lipstick and a lip balm. The ultra-sheer finish glides on with creamy ease and delivers just a touch of sun-kissed color to your lips.

The Liptint is made from organic beeswax, organic sunflower oil, organic coconut oil, organic jojoba oil, organic cocoa butter, and organic aloe vera. Also, Origins has developed a delightfully delicious essential-oil blend of lime and tangerine, which delivers a crisp, refreshing scent.

The lip tints are available in six shades that are made very obvious on the packaging - I love that. There's a color indicator band located along the side of each tube, so you know immediately what shade is inside. Colors include Eco-Pink (rose), Off-Beet (deep berry), Organic Plum (lighter berry), Raw Honey (nude), Sugar Cane (peachy nude), and Vintage (pink-purple).

While the products in the collection tend to skew on the higher end of the price spectrum, they do deliver a pleasantly pretty, natural, and healthy-looking effect. Has Heidi Klum Made the Perfect Lipstick?

Did you know that Victoria's Secret Beauty is one of the best-selling brands in the country? Yep. Who knew? A revamp of the line's VS Makeup means it's worth a new look, and it probably doesn't hurt that Christian Siriano and Heidi Klum are collaborating on makeup collections for the brand. Heidi's latest endeavor is a collection of makeup inspired by her travels to the spiritual city of Varanasi, India. To that end, the jewel-toned packaging is gorgeously draped in golds, pinks, and purples.

I've been playing around with some of the products, and one thing stands out above everything else: Heidi Klum Perfect Lipstick ($16) in Exotic Spice. It's pretty much the perfect versatile shade of nude pink, and the moist and creamy formula has just a hint of shine. It works for a natural, low-key look as well as a glamorous nighttime one, and it just feels nice on the lips. I'm not absolutely crazy about the chocolate scent, but your mileage may vary. Either way, this has become my go-to shade - even if I don't look like Heidi with it on.
