I bought this for my boyfriend three years ago when we started dating because he had really gross bacne. No, really. I mean really gross bacne. I would use this to scrub his back because he had no clue how bad it was back there. Within a month his back was SPOTLESS! He's been using this less frequently since then, and the bacne hasn't come back. He also likes how the grit feels when he massages it into his shoulders. It smells really good, too. I also use this when I have acne spring up during the winter, when I tend to wear stuff that irritates my skin.

Reader Review of the Day: Neutrogena Facial Peel

Facial masks and peels are a complicated bunch. They claim to do all manner of different things, have obscure, "advanced" ingredients, and the difference between one at home and one at the medispa can be enormous. That's why it's refreshing when one actually works, as Neutrogena Facial Peel ($22) apparently does, even if its name is a little misleading. Reader Stellajodella says:

This is a little pricey compared to what I normally spend on a mask, but it was totally worth it for me. Calling it a "Facial Peel" is a bit of a misnomer, though. It's actually a mask that you wash off, but it has exfoliating beads as well. Overall, it really helped brighten up my dull skin. I don't use it very often, since it has a tendency to dry out even my oily skin-but once or twice a month is great!

Recently, reader Risqueredhead found a deal on Neutrogena Sport Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 70 ($11.50) at CVS. While she liked this heavy-duty sunscreen at first, something went awry the next day. Here's what she had to say:

I'm a pale redheaded girl, and I knew I'd be spending a lot of time outside this summer. I have no problem with the actual product. It's not heavy, it doesn't melt into the eyes too badly (but it still does), and it rubs in fine. However, this broke me out like none other. I'm even broken out on my chest, which has never happened before.

It's not only a concealer, but also a moisturizer and sunscreen for that delicate eye area. I use this every morning and it instantly brightens my eyes. I'm knocking on wood as I write this, but I have been using this product for years in combination with a nighttime eye cream and I still have kept those crow's feet at bay. I have a sneaking suspicion that the combination of the SPF with the moisturizer has done its job.

Now that warm weather is here, you might be frequenting pools and/or beaches a little more often. That's when waterproof and humidity-resistant products can be most helpful. Recently, reader Telane reviewed Neutrogena Healthy Volume Waterproof Mascara ($10). Testify!

I have been using this mascara for about a month, and I have to say I am pretty impressed. I wasn't really expecting anything other than natural looking, voluminous lashes from Neutrogena, and I haven't been disappointed at all. I haven't had the problems that others have had with streaking and running, though I am sure it depends a lot on skin type and whatnot. I even wear it when I run my three-mile route after work and I haven't had a problem yet. I do have to agree that I wouldn't say it gives me "400 percent" thicker lashes, but I would say it does a good job for a drugstore brand.

It's been about one and a half years since the much buzzed-about Neutrogena Wave Power-Cleanser and Deep Clean Foaming Pads ($13) launched. I gave you my review back then, but now it's StarObsolete's turn. Here's what she had to say:

This is by far one of my favorite cleansers. When I first saw the commercial which Vanessa Hudgens, I was a bit skeptical, but I decided to give it a try. My face doesn't have much oil, mostly just the t-zone.
This really worked great for my skin. A lot of cleansers seemed to dry out my face, but this one kept it super smooth. Love, love, love the scent to this cleanser!

Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Blends Sheer Highlighting Blush ($12.80) has a touch of color with a slight shimmery finish. Reader Laura220 is impressed, and here's why:

For me, this is expensive for blush, but it's so worth it. I'm very light-skinned, and this doesn't look silly on me at all. It matches my natural pink tones, and it blends well. I use it with a bigger brush than what is given in the compact because that's my preference.

When I ran out of my pricy cleanser and couldn't drive the 35 minutes to the nearest counter, I scoured the drugstore shelves. I finally settled on this cleanser, somewhat wary about any impending havoc it might wreak upon my face. Surprisingly enough, I didn't break out nor did my skin get peely and dried-out. In fact, my skin started improving! It's a great, cheap find that I can easily get anywhere - you can't go wrong.

I've tried various types of concealers throughout the years and I always come back to this one. It has great staying powder, nearly perfect coverage, and the best part is that it dries out my blemishes while concealing them. What more could you want? It's great at hiding redness, and even makes any irritated bumps look flatter. This is my go to concealer when I have acne flare-ups.

Neutrogena Figuratively Turns the SPF Up to 11

I know I sound like a broken record: Sunblock, sunblock, sunblock. But if I sound repetitive, it's only because slathering on SPF is the best way to take care of your skin. Not only does it prevent premature wrinkling and spotting of your complexion, it can help prevent skin cancer. As a wise man named Jay-Z once said, it's so necessary.

Most dermatologists recommend wearing SPF 30 every day, and that's what I do on overcast days. If it's sunny, my inner heliophobe comes out big time, and I amp up the SPF number. Now, Neutrogena has come out with a sunblock that sports a whopping SPF 100 - and no, that isn't an extra zero. I'd had lousy results with their SPF 70 last year, finding it too thick and fragranced, so I expected more of the same. Not so! This broad-spectrum sunblock goes on easily, sinks into skin well, and won't knock you over with its scent. If you plan to go outside this Summer, feel free to join me in my SPF overcompensation.
