Nina Ricci Presents Nina Perfume

The French fashion house Nina Ricci has introduced a new perfume, Nina. This romantic fragrance was inspired by the City of Light and by childhood fairy tales.

Everything about it is sweet: The fragrance features notes of lemon, lime, peony petals, moonflower, vanilla-infused red toffee apple, applewood and white cedar. The bottle was created out of bright raspberry-colored glass to resemble an apple, and its silver leaves sport an engraved Nina Ricci signature.

The Nina product range includes a 2.7 ounce eau de toilette spray ($67), a body lotion ($26) and a shower gel ($24). I'm not usually one for shower gels, but I bet the mix of apples and flowers would smell feel really fresh and clean. Do you think you'll check out Nina?

Twilight Takes a Bite From Nina Ricci's Apple

Poor Robert Pattinson. Not only does he have thousands of Twilight-obsessed teenagers chasing him, he's now going to smell them coming. That's because Hot Topic is stocking Twilight perfume ($48), a lavender-and-freesia scent. I'd tell you what it smells like, but I cannot bring myself to enter Hot Topic without feeling grizzled and going off on a tirade about mall emo.

I'll wager that it's not a sophisticated scent, and I'll also bet that Nina Ricci's lawyers are busy bees. Twilight has blatantly knocked off the fashion house's signature bottle (at right). Then again, I'd argue that the idea of a teenage girl who falls in love with a vampire who doesn't feed on people was knocked off from Buffy, so what do I know?

All the romance and delicacy of Nina Ricci was present for Spring 2012, with a healthy dose of overt flirtation added in. Slim dresses were dolled up with soft ruffles, drape, and pretty florals; floaty peplum tops, peeking from tailored cropped jackets, danced above miniskirts; and then there was lingerie. Designer Peter Copping had played with lingerie themes in his Resort collection; here it was taken a new level: models walked the runway in pretty bras, some underneath jackets, others simply with a swingy skirt. Slipdresses of silk and lace seemed cut apart and stitched back together. It was playful and seductive, but most importantly it was pretty.

Trends: ladylike, boudoir, lingerie, florals.
Colors: pink, white, black, lavender, blue.
Key Look: the lace and silk slipdresses, the floral prints that came from the Nina Ricci archive.
Accessories: minimal platform sandals, stilettos.

Diane Kruger and Vanessa Paradis Get Glam For the Annual Sidaction Dinner

Diane Kruger and Vanessa Paradis made the rounds at Paris's annual Sidaction benefit, proceeds of which go toward AIDS charities. The event, now in its tenth year, is one of the social centerpieces of Couture Fashion Week, and Diane and Vanessa have both been busy shuttling between shows and parties over the last few days. Yesterday, they caught up with friends like a Nina-Ricci clad Clémence Poésy, model Anja Rubik, and designer Christian Louboutin. Diane wore a lacy Erdem gown, while Vanessa was decked out in sequined Chanel.

The front row duties have been mixed in with interviews for Vanessa. She's simultaneously talking up her new movie Café de Flore, which came out in France earlier this week. While making the press rounds, she addressed the recent rumors about a split with longtime love Johnny Depp. Vanessa called the stories "false," hopefully putting an end to the latest round of speculation about their romance.

Nina Ricci indulges our romantic side for Fall '11. As always, the collection speaks to the epitome of femininity in the form of delicate fabrics - lace details and embellishments on headbands and collars - silhouettes that hug at the waist and float at the hips, and a rich color palette that's at first dramatic and then deliciously flirtatious. There is a more mature, womanly side that comes to life in burgundy and black, long gloves, deep floral print on sheer, fluid fabrics, and velvet pants. Then we get the perfectly ladylike wear - thick coats and jackets cinched with skinny chain belts and paired with tights, platforms, and gloves. Of course, there is also that playful bit of romance that surfaces in bubblegum pink and baby blues on a full-length gown that's as elegant as it is sweet.

Rooney Mara Toasts Sony's Nominations With Sacha, Jodie, and Jonah

Sony Pictures also played host to a Golden Globes bash last night! The stars from the company's many films got together to raise their glasses in honor of their many nominees. Rooney Mara of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo had been nominated for best actress in a drama, an honor that ultimately went to The Iron Lady's Meryl Streep. She nonetheless mingled with Sony execs and sipped champagne at the bash in her dark Nina Ricci gown. Moneyball's best supporting actor contender Jonah Hill said hello to Sacha Baron Cohen, who was out supporting Hugo and its best director winner Martin Scorsese. A Dangerous Method best supporting actor nom Viggo Mortensen was in a great mood while talking about Spanish soccer, and Jodie Foster hung out with her sons Christopher and Charlie.
