Looks like the nude lip trend is hotter than ever this year. Just a few weeks ago we saw lots of pale pouts at the Teen Choice Awards, and here they are again at this year's VMAs. Natalie Portman Wraps Up Her Paris Trip With Aleph in Her Arms

Natalie Portman packed up and headed out of Paris today. She held her 10-month-old son, Aleph, close for the airport trip and had the help of assistants with her luggage. Natalie was in France to announce her new role as an ambassador for Free the Children. The philanthropic endeavor is part of her work as a Dior spokesmodel, with the proceeds of the brand's Nude Griege lipstick benefiting the international charity.

Natalie is ramping up for her return to the big screen with multiple movie projects in the works. She's set to star in Terrence Malick's Lawless and Knight of Cups along with reprising her role as Jane Foster in the Thor sequel.

Natalie Portman got dressed up for a stop by the Hotel Plaza Athenee in Paris last night. She's in her fiancé Benjamin Millepied's home country after a stint in LA, where she stepped out with her son, Aleph. Natalie has since turned her focus to philanthropy and announced yesterday that she's taking on the role of ambassador for the international charity Free the Children. The actress and Dior spokesmodel personally chose a lipstick from the brand, Rogue Dior in Nude Griege, the proceeds of which will go to Free the Children. Natalie shared her excitement about becoming involved, saying, "As a mother and the organization's newest ambassador, I am grateful to Free the Children for giving me the opportunity to channel my passion and love of children into meaningful action that furthers the education and leadership of young women for years to come."

The bright lip trend is in full throttle. Are you on board? Still feeling like it's not for you? Here's my insight into dipping your toe in the bold lip pool! The other night I went to a friend's for dinner and a screening of My Week With Marilyn. In honor of the film (and Ms. Monroe), my gal pal, Whitney, showed up with a beautiful cherry lip (Guerlain's #529) and matching nails (Sephora by OPI's And a Cherry on Top). Keep in mind, Whitney is a neutral/pinky gloss girl.

Seeing her with scarlet lips was striking and felt totally fresh. She looked so great that I found myself asking why she doesn't do it more often. Whit's reply: "It's not special if you do it all the time." So true, and on closer inspection I noticed both her lip and nail color had a touch of gold. How very smart of her, as gold softens. A red lipstick may seem very thick and garish, but with a tinge of gold it seems to have more depth and feel very wearable. Every woman has a bright shade that will make her look sensational. "For added drama without looking like a Studio 54 regular, dab some fine glitter on the center of your lid - just a touch will do the trick," Cruzalegui advises. Pretty pairings: Amp up your metallic look with rusty gold and deep purple shadows for an edgy take on the smoky eye, and round things out with shimmery nude lip gloss.
