Oprah Reveals the Truth About Her Hair

Oprah Winfrey's fans were excited when she began Twittering earlier this month, and - unsurprisingly - they had a multitude of questions for the superstar. One of the most popular: is that your natural hair, or is that a weave? Through a quick tweet and a fast mention on Friday's show, she answered the question. "Everybody’s like, 'Oprah, we love your weave,'" she said. "This is not a weave, this is my hair."

Here's the proof: A photo of Oprah pre-makeup and prestyling. For years, Oprah's hair has been coiffed by her personal stylist, Andre Walker. Set your TiVo if you're obsessed with hair, because today's Oprah features 100 hair makeovers. Technically, it's 101, since Oprah cut Hilary Swank's hair so she could donate it. But who's counting? Oh right: me.

Seeing makeover results never gets old. Check everyone out for yourself. The most interesting thing is that the women are ordinary, everyday people-the kind of people you'd see walking down the street. I am dying to know what these people thought of their new 'dos-because while some look really happy, others totally have poker face. Let me know if you, too, get lost in the photos-I easily spent half an hour clicking through them.

Bella Donna: Lena Horne

I first became aware of legendary actress, singer, and activist Lena Horne not from watching old movies on AMC, but from 1970s Sesame Street reruns on PBS. Known for her elegance, talent, and style, Horne helped break down the race barrier in Hollywood's segregated climate.

Born in 1917 in Brooklyn, Horne was dancing and singing in the famous Cotton Club at the age of 16. By the 1940s, she was the country's highest-paid African American actress, starring in ﬁlms such as Stormy Weather and Cabin in the Sky.

In her screen tests at MGM, Horne’s skin photographed very lightly. In fact, the studio executives went so far as to hire cosmetics legend Max Factor to create a makeup line for her called “Egyptian Tan” so that she would appear darker onscreen.

Throughout her life, she has been active with the NAACP and the National Council of Negro Women. Now 91, Horne currently resides in Manhattan. It's rumored that Alicia Keys will star in a biopic on Horne's life with Oprah Winfrey producing. Haircuts To Flatter Your Face Shape: Part II, Round Faces

You may covet your favorite celeb's hairstyle, but if the 'do doesn't fit your face shape, you're likely to be disappointed. Hence, FABSUGAR's four-part series on the haircuts that best flatter your face. Welcome back for our second installment: round faces. (To read last week's advice on heart-shaped faces, click here.)

If you have a full, round face, you share your facial structure with Gwyneth Paltrow, Oprah Winfrey, Kate Bosworth, Cameron Diaz, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. The shape is characterized by a round chin and lack of sharp angles. Round faces tend to be wider at the cheeks, with softer shaping along the jawline and forehead. Round faces need balance, which can be achieved with hairstyles that make the face appear longer.

Soft, long layers are also pretty because they the appearance of a longer and slimmer face. The layers also reduce bulk and heaviness from the sides.

Bangs are flattering, but keep them long or side-swept. Go for wispy and tapered ends to de-emphasize the roundness of your face.

Try and stay away from blunt cuts if you have short hair. These only emphasize your round face.
