Tomorrow, Paul Mitchell's stylist schools are having Free Hugs Day, where they'll send students from more than 100 of their locations out on the street to offer passers-by free hugs. They'll be dressed in their black Paul Mitchell outfits, so if you see someone all in black with great hair hugging tons of people, don't be alarmed. It's all inspired by the Free Hugs campaign.

In another life, I'd be a fabulous French femme who strolled the streets of Paris in simple but chic outfits. An Isabel Marant dress here, a sequined Vanessa Bruno tote there, and a Paul & Joe coat to top it all off — so French, so chic. Unfortunately, not only am I not even vaguely French, I also can't afford the steep prices of those clothes.

Last month, Paul & Joe launched a few new nail and body products for Summer 2008. Of the bunch, my favorite product is the Refreshing Leg Emulsion ($30). This citrusy-mint scented lotion is actually formulated with oil to penetrate deep into your skin, however, it dries to a powdery, velvety-soft finish.

As you may know, I'm a bit of a cat lady. (Have you met Milo and Minou?) So it's no surprise that I'm hoping dear ol' Santy Claws will bring me this Paul & Joe holiday face kit. Available in two shades, it features a sheer lipstick and swirly cheek color.

You know how we're always hearing that face symmetry indicates how attractive a person is perceived? There's even software available so that you can determine your own facial evenness. (As if we really need that.) Now, researchers are hinting that it could actually be facial radiance that determines beauty.

Last week I picked up a copy of Paul Starr on Beauty: Conversations with Thirty Celebrated Women ($22.76) and I've already read it cover to cover. Paul Starr is a celebrity makeup artist whose hands have touched dozens of star studded faces including Pamela Anderson, Salma Hayek, Michelle Pfeiffer, Angelina Jolie, Meg Ryan and one of his personal favorites Jennifer Garner. In the early 80s, he moved to Los Angeles without having any formal makeup training and by 2002 he became so successful that he collaborated with Estee Lauder on a collection.

It's not often that you can use products that allow you to look good, feel good, and do good all at the same time. So when the opportunity arises, you know Bella has to give you the scoop, especially when it involves free swag (that's the feel good part). From now until December 10, you can enter to win an Eco Friendly From Head to Toe Wardrobe including Paul Mitchell hair care, CARE by Stella McCartney skin care, and other equally green-friendly clothing items (like Edun denim)!

Sad news: Paul Starr, the influential makeup artist to celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Madonna and Bjork, was found dead at his Los Angeles apartment Tuesday. Starr was the first in-house makeup artist for Estee Lauder, the founding Beauty Editor of Flaunt magazine, and the author of On Beauty: Conversations with Thirty Celebrated Women (which includes original interviews with Lindsay Lohan, Pam Grier, Britney Spears, and Joni Mitchell, among others). He worked with the best designers, directors and photographers in the industry.

Never one for subtlety, Jean-Paul Gaultier made the haute couture styles at Armani and Dior look positively Pollyanna-ish in comparison to his show. Models wore orange tape under their bangs, while some sported elaborate spiraling updos. Obviously these are fantasy-fashion styles, but as far as over-the-top looks go, do you like this?
