More and more celebrities are jumping onto the summertime neon nail polish bandwagon. We've seen hot pink shades since April, but it seems like they are brighter and more popular than ever now. Rihanna likes pink, orange, and yellow, and yesterday we spotted Lauren Conrad and Christina Aguilera both wearing electric pink. How cute would it be if Lauren had on Whitney from Zoya's Hills-inspired collection? Back to Basics: The Best Pale Pink Polishes

With all the talk about trendy, dark and bright nail polishes in the spotlight these days, it's nice to keep some muted, basic shades in the mix for when you're feeling more conservative. Below are three of my favorite pale, pink polishes. Unfortunately, now that I know that Essie subscribes to the big three, I'll have to rethink my choices. Something tells me that considering all of the attention the subject of safety is getting, things in the nail biz are bound to change. Let's hope so.

OPI Sweet Heart ($7) is the deepest and most opaque pink of the bunch. In my opinion, it also lasts the longest. (Anyone care to dispute this?) Sweet Heart is my go-to color for elegant manicures and pedicures in any given season.

Essie Ballet Slippers ($8) is a classic, tame, sheer pink that doesn't contain any shimmer. It gives a high-gloss finish and happens to be one of the brand's all-time best sellers.

Deborah Lippman Sarah Smile ($15) is a sheer, sexy, whisper pink that was created alongside and inspired by Deborah's long-time client, Sarah Jessica Parker. What can I say, pretty much anything SJP creates I love - that woman's all class.

Beauty Mark It Results: An Awesome Pink Polish

This week I said "buh-bye" to fad nail polish colors, and got back to basics instead. I wanted to see what you love for a classic pink nail polish shade. There were so many great suggestions, from bright to bold to sheer, it's nearly impossible to highlight just a couple! I love OPI Japanese Rose Garden that marcella suggested, saying that it's "perfect for Spring toes." Another great find is Hard Candy Vintage Nail Polish in Pussy Cat from jennjennbubba. It's pretty and classic.

It's official: bright, crazy nail colors are all the rage this season. While I'm having a lot of fun playing with these new shades, there is something to be said for the old standbys. And if any nail color is classic for this time of year, it's pink.

This week I want to know what you love for a beautiful pink nail polish. Do you go for pale, sheer, matte, bright flamingo pink, or all of the above? I love an electric pink shade, like this MAC Nail Lacquer ($10) in Steamy.

Think Pink: OPI Pink of Hearts Nail Lacquer

It's amazing to see so many companies on board to help support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. OPI has just come out with its new Pink of Hearts Nail Lacquer. This pale pink color has been created exclusively to raise money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

OPI will make a donation of $25,000 to help fuel research and development toward the fight against breast cancer. In addition, Ladies Home Journal is running a contest through October. If you are a breast cancer survivor or know someone who is, you can write a 500-words-or-less entry about why you think you should win a catered at home mani/pedi party for ten. Sounds like a win-win situation to me.

Are You Into The New Hot Pink Nail Polish Trend?

Woo hoo! I don't know about you, but I'm relieved the goth nail polish look is on its way out. The latest color from Essie Cosmetics is called Bachelorette Bash, $6.09. This shade is part of the new hot pink nail color Spring trend.

I happen to think that magentas, fuchsias and bright pinks are really cute, fun and fresh, although it definitely does remind me a little bit of the 80s! How do you feel about it? Can you see yourself sporting pink polish this Spring?

Trend Alert: Iridescent Pink Nail Polish

The 80s called, and they want their nail polish back. Only this time, delicate pinks are not quite as sheer as before. Candy-colored nail polish takes on a new twist for Spring 2008 with three new shades infused with shimmery iridescence to reflect light and add some extra drama to your digits.

Deborah Lippmann Dream a Little Dream of Me ($15) is a medium cotton-candy pink polish. The cool part about the color is that as you move your hands in different lights, the iridescence reveals blue, purple, and yellow tones on your nails.

Lancôme Le Vernis in Polished Pink, a part of the new Spring Chateau Garden Party collection. The color is a shiny, iridescent, bubblegum pink that packs a little bit more punch than your average pale nail.

Essie Secret Affair ($8) is the lightest of the bunch. It's a little less flirty and a lot more classic since it's a creamy opalescent taupey pink.

This shade is perfect for a Spring wedding or for those of you that want to test your toes with iridescence in a more subtle dose.

Nail It! Spring Nail Polish Colors

Say 'sayonara' to dark, vampy nails and 'konnichi wa' to soft, delicate pink nail colors for Spring 2007. Pale nails make hands look feminine and lighter shades are much easier to maintain than darker colors. Pastel pink nails also look great on super short nails. These are the "It" colors for next season. All of the new colors haven't been released yet but here are a few of my favorite oldies but goodies to get you started.

Sarah Smile by Deborah Lippmann, $15, was created with and for Sarah Jessica Parker. It's a super sheer and sexy whisper pink neutral that reminds me of the color of her light pink Oscar de la Renta dress she wears in her Lovely perfume ad.

Ballet Slippers by Essie, $7, is a longtime classic sheer pink. It looks great with all skin tones and is one of about 20 pale pinky-nude colors in the Essie line.

Sweet Heart by OPI , $6.50, is the sweetest, most adorable pale pink by OPI. It's a very soft, opaque pink color which separates it from the other sheer colors. After doing a self test, I feel OPI lasts longer than most other polishes. Let me know what you think!
