Pixi Beauty, the aptly named brand known for its sweet, girlish packaging and shimmery shades, just teamed up with everyone's favorite foot-stamping little fairy. Putting Pixi and Tinker Bell together was a stroke of marketing genius for the puns alone, but it's also the prettiest collaboration we've seen in a while. Fairy Tale: Tinker Bell Is Getting a Makeup Line

Pixi is known for its glimmery, radiance-boosting products and fairy mascot, so it just makes sense that the brand would partner with one of the most famous, sparkly fairies of all: Tinker Bell. Coming exclusively to Target and Boots next Spring will be PixiGlow, a Tinker Bell-inspired makeup line ($14 to $34) for the cheeks, lips, face, and eyes.

"They [Disney] approached us saying we were all about a touch of magic and they have the most famous fairy in the world and let's figure out a way to work together," Pixi's founder, Petra Strand, explained to WWD. To see more, just keep reading.

For the last week, I've been trying makeup artist Petra Strand's new Week of Makeup Wakeup ($34), a palette-a-day kit that promises to get you out of your beauty routine rut. I wore all the color palettes faithfully, and now you can see how the shades look on and find out how each day's colors wore.

The kit definitely did shake up my beauty regimen, and even changed a few perceptions I had about which colors I could wear. Plus, trying something new every day was really fun, if a little scary sometimes. Check it out to see if you'd be up for the challenge, too.

If you have been reading the site for some time, then you will know how much all of Team Bella loves a great multitasker. Such is the case with Pixi's new Succulent Lip Twin ($18), which I recently tried. While this product looks like a lip and cheek tint from the outside, once you unscrew the top portion, it actually also doubles as a lip balm from the inside. Available in four shades, the color I tried (Poppy Red) was a little brighter and warmer than what I'd normally wear during the daytime. Making my customary beauty aisle pit stop, I was disturbed by what I saw. While I don't mean to nitpick one of my favorite stores, the new designer makeup collection was a big ol' hot mess, as I'm sure you'll agree. To see what I'm talking about,

What's odd is that at most other stores where sampling is allowed - think Sephora - the testers are nowhere near this nasty. I don't think that's the fault of Target's employees; it seems like people think "big-box store" and take puerile glee in sticking their fingers in the testers. Good thing Purell is sold just a few aisles over, no?

Designer Makeup Now at Target

Testers at Target - yes! After popping in the megastore during on a weekend of errand running, I checked out the latest addition to their newly boosted cosmetics section.

Just as Target's GO International line features lower-priced designer fashions, three new collections from top names in the makeup world now line the aisles. Touted as more affordable than the fancy designer counterparts, the designers include JK Jemma Kidd ($14–$36), Napoleon Perdis' NP Set ($12-$30), and Pixi Cosmetics' Pixi ($12-$39).

Beauty Byte: Three Cosmetic Brands Are the Latest Target

Coming this August to a Target store near you are three, more affordable versions of designer cosmetics collections by Jemma Kidd, Pixi Cosmetics, and Napoleon Perdis. The reason for the push, according to consultant Allan Mottus, is that "Target is not doing well in mass beauty." Aside from Sonia Kashuk, a brand that they have a financial relationship with, the beauty department is not being properly maintained.

Prepare yourself to see TV, print, and online ads promoting the new brands along with in-store testers to encourage shopper interaction with the products. Each of the brands have modified their collections for the mass appeal, however they claim to remain similar to the coveted designer products.

Jemma Kidd's line, JK Jemma Kidd has a heavy fashion inspiration with products ranging from $14 to $36.
Napoleon Perdis' line, NP Set will consist of 85 products housed in white packaging with the phrase "What's in it for me?"
Pixi Cosmetics' line, Pixi by Petra (Petra is the name of one of the founding sisters) stands by its good-for-your-skin angle and will sell products ranging in price from $12 to $39.
