Last week, I met up with eyebrow guru Anastasia Soare, and ever since then, I've been paying extra special attention to the brow area - or lack thereof. More tips from Anastasia to come, but in the meantime, after passing by this Revlon Brow Specialist Kit ($9) at Walgreens over the weekend, I couldn't resist. My makeup area at home is getting a little cluttered these days, so anything that is compact, compartmentalized, and brow-related captures my attention. This does exactly what an eyelash curler should do and the rubber insert is soft and supple, unlike some eyelash curlers out there. It is metal so it is sturdy and won't crack like the plastic curlers. Tip: Heat with a hair dryer for 15 to 20 seconds (at low heat) for added curl.

I bought this eyeliner a few weeks ago. I have the black shade though since that is what makes my hazel eyes pop. I love the packaging. It makes applying the eyeliner super easy. You get great color payoff with just one stroke or you can go over the line again to make it even darker. You can also easily change the thickness of your lines by tilting the pen a little bit to the side. The staying power is great. Mine stayed put from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (that included a workout, as well). Overall, I'm pleased with this buy and will definitely repurchase again.

Jessica Biel Is Revlon's Latest Lady

Aside from given names, what else do Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel have in common? They're now both brand ambassadors for drugstore favorite cosmetics brand, Revlon. Biel, who has experimented with different hair tones in the past, will now get to experiment with all sorts of makeup products as a spokeswoman for the beauty giant, WWD reports.

Perhaps known best for her role on 7th Heaven and her connection to main squeeze Justin Timberlake, the actress joins the likes of Jennifer Connelly, Halle Berry, and Elle Macpherson in her new position with Revlon. What do you think of the choice? Is it a good match, or not?

Feel Young Again For Less Than Five Bucks

Some people eat madeleines and zoom back to childhood. Me? I paint my nails for that Proustian moment. While at Walgreens last week, I spotted a display of Revlon nail polish. But this wasn't any nail polish. Nope, this was scented nail polish in eight bright colors that remind me of Kool-Aid. (Oh yeah!)

When the polish is applied, there's nothing remotely fruity about the scent - just the unpleasant and familiar smell of varnish. When dry, however, the polish reveals a chemically "fruity" scent almost identical to that of the Mr. Sketch scented markers I played with as a kid. Just one whiff of my freshly manicured nails transported me back to my marker-sniffing days. That was fun for a moment, but my nose is extremely sensitive, so I had a nasty headache within 15 minutes. (I'll use the polish only for pedicures from here on out.) As long as you can handle a little fake-fruit smell, the polish's $4.50 price is an extremely budget-friendly way to feel like a kid again.

Revlon Is Researching Rihanna

It's been a difficult 2009 for Rihanna, and today's news doesn't help. TMZ reports that Revlon quietly hired a polling company to gauge consumers' opinions of Rihanna - who is a spokesperson for its competitor, CoverGirl. The online survey, which Revlon commissioned, highlights a CoverGirl commercial and, as TMZ says, asks "if they are aware of the person in the commercial (without saying Rihanna's name), if they've heard about her in the news lately, if they have an opinion about the person and if they feel the person is 'an appropriate spokesperson' for the product."

Like TMZ, I'd wager that Revlon wants to see if Rihanna's reputation is suffering because she's sticking with her alleged abuser. I know business can be ruthless, but turning Rihanna's problems into a market-analysis project is pretty cold. What do you think? Business as usual, or has Revlon crossed a line?

The great thing about eye shadow palettes is that you are not limited by just one option. That, and you can blend each shade in the collection to create your own custom color. Reader Starangel82 reviewed Revlon 12-Hour Eyeshadow Quad ($7), calling it a "great eye shadow for your money." Let's find out why:

I love these quads. I use Sterling Rose as my everyday palette. It has a lovely neutral brown, a light pink, a light gray, and a charcoal color. It's great for a neutral eye or a smoky eye. This eye shadow doesn't quite last 12 hours, but I don't use a primer with my eye shadow. They last well through my work day, but I usually need a little touch up before going out at night. Regardless, this eye shadow is the best I've found in a drugstore.
