Do You Prefer Riley Keough as a Brunette or a Blonde?

Last night in New York City, model Riley Keough (who also happens to be the granddaughter of Elvis Presley) arrived to Milk Gallery for a party. I'm used to seeing Riley's hair colored in a more two-toned manner, but I find this all-blond look soft and becoming on her. Do you like Riley's hair when it's darker and a little bit edgy, or do you prefer her as a blonde?

Model of the Week: Riley Keough

Welcome back to Model of the Week, where models dish about their beauty and fashion secrets! Meet Riley Keough. For those of you who are wondering why she looks so familiar, Riley, whose full name is Danielle Riley Keough, is the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley-which makes her granddaughter of the King and the former stepdaughter of Michael Jackson!

Riley was born on May 29, 1989 and was raised in Southern California where she developed a strong interest in fashion. She got her start modeling in a 2002 Tommy Hilfiger campaign, and in 2004 Annie Leibovitz took her photo with her famous mom and grandmother for the cover of Vogue. From there, it was off to Milan to walk the runway in Dolce and Gabbana's fall 2004 fashion show.

After that show, Keough's beautiful looks and strong work ethic helped make her a star. You might recognize her as a Victoria's Secret runway model, from her print ad campaigns for Christian Dior and David Yurman, or from her pictures in Vogue, Elle, Teen Vogue, L’Officiel and Jalouse.

BELLASUGAR: What is your secret to beautiful skin and hair?

RK: I try to never sleep with makeup on, and I put aloe vera on my face and in my hair every day. I don't wash my hair very often, and I never blow-dry it, so that it doesn't dry out. Actually, I don’t really do anything with my hair-I'm pretty lazy about it!

BELLA: What is the one product that you can't live without?

RK: Hair conditioner. My hair will start to dread if I don't use a handful because it's so curly and nuts.

BELLA: What is your guilty pleasure?

RK: I eat really healthy most of the time. I didn't eat sugar until I was 12 years old, but I eat loads of sugar now! I love ice cream and all desserts, unless they are fruity.

BELLA: What is your favorite drugstore product?

RK: Cocoa butter.

BELLA: Happiness is...

RK: Swimming in the ocean.

Bella Interview: Stuart Hirsch, Owner of Stuart Hirsch Salon

New York City has a new salon, and its future looks bright and colorful. Owner Stuart Hirsch is famous for the sun-kissed hair color on models such as Noemie Leonor, Julie Orden, Riley Keough and May Andersen. He's decided to venture out on his own after more than 25 years in the biz, opening the the Stuart Hirsch Salon on the outskirts of Soho.

The minimalistic and industrial looking space has 16 stations at which you can get haircuts, color, mani's, pedi's and massages. The vibe of the salon is young, hip, and edgy-yet upscale-and many of the stylists hail from Warren-Tricomi (an ex employer of Hirsch's).

I was fortunate enough to sit down and speak with Stuart about the salon, his proudest career moments, and the latest color craze. To find out all of this and more, read more.

Tell me a little bit about your background.
More than 25 years ago, I trained and worked at Vidal Sasoon. I started off cutting hair, but I always has a passion and a natural talent to color hair. In fact, years later, I had my own private room at the Pierre Michele Salon and eventually got recruited as color specialist at Warren-Tricomi.

What is the most difficult part of your job?
I've found it particularly challenging to manage the salon and concentrate on doing hair at the same time. At first I had to concentrate on the business and building the team, but now I think I strike a smooth balance between management and finding more time for my clients.

What are some of the biggest mistakes you see people make with hair color?
Not being realistic and going too far away from what their hair should be. You should always stay within a few shades of your natural hair color or else it's not going to look natural. Plus if you go too light, you risk frying and drying out your hair - there's only just so far you can go.

But Madonna is a dark brunette, and she has blond hair.
She looks good now, but when her hair was platinum, did that look natural and healthy?

What is your proudest career moment?
I have two. The first is doing Lisa Marie Presley's hair for the 30th anniversary of her grandfather's death, and the second is opening my salon.

Tell me about color trends. Do you have any predictions for 2008?
I think that hair is going to go back to being lighter by spring. Everybody loves being a blond and it will never go of style. Being blond is just like short skirts - it's hot.

Fab Flash: Vodianova Joins Moss In David Yurman Ads

It has been reported that Calvin Klein muse Natalia Vodianova, is going to join the ranks as a David Yurman model in the Fall ad campaign alongside Kate Moss. The ads are scheduled to be shot later this month in St. Bart’s.

David Yurman is a New York based jewelry company renowned for its twisted cable-link pieces in silver and gold which are often fashioned with diamonds and colorful stones.
