Our lips have some of the thinnest cover on our entire body. They are super sensitive to the environment since they don't produce any moisture on their own. Therefore, as soon as we feel a crack, or a patch of dryness, our lips become extra sensitive.

Anyone who's been reading Bella for a while knows that I have a soft spot for Laura Mercier products, so this review of Lip Stain ($20) in English Rose caught my eye. It's chock-full of good-to-know info, so I'll let reader bailaoragaditana give you the lowdown on the pros and cons of the product. She says:
"This isn't a lip stain.

When good ol' Bonne Bell just doesn't seem sophisticated enough to whip out during your morning meeting, you can wow everyone with these designer tinted lip balms. These are perfect for the minimalist who is looking for an ultra-sheer wash of color without having to deal with any ooey-gooey-ness whatsoever.
Yves Saint Laurent Tinted Lip Balm ($23) is a new, slightly tinted, creamy lip balm that contains SPF 10 to protect lips from the sun.

Unless you been living under a rock for the past few years, you've likely heard of Benefit's best-selling, award-winning lip and cheek stain called Benetint. This red rose-colored liquid creates a natural, healthy-looking flush to whatever it touches. Its popularity has spawned many other products like Pocket-Pal, a smaller version of the tint with a clear lip gloss, Posietint, a brighter and sheer pink tint and Benetint Lip Balm ($20) a deep pink, non-sticky and light lip balm that has recently been updated to include SPF 15.

Badger products are new for me, but after trying these lip balms I'm hooked! Their products are intended for healing and restoring balance in your skin. The company:
- Uses only 100% natural products
- Uses anywhere from 70%-100% certified organic ingredients in their balms
- Doesn't use chemicals, synthetics, GMO’s, parabens, preservatives or test on animals
My favorite product of theirs is the Lip Balm Sticks, $5.

Makeup artist and Lancome cosmetics designer Gucci Westman decided to have a little fun with the Autumn/Winter 2007 Lancome collection. Called Mystery Game, it consists of art deco beauty shades, surprising shapes and tastes all inspired by the Orient Express. You'll be hearing about the products as I do, but for now, I've at least had the chance to check out the fabulous new Baume Baiser Rose Marshmallow Lip Balm ($25).

Extra, extra! The Balm is full of news. Not only have they just launched a set of six new lipsticks called Read My Lips ($16), but I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate Marissa, the matriarch of The Balm, on the birth of her baby!
