But how many of us would actually shave it all off like Mena Suvari? The cut is for her new movie Garden of Eden, but still, that takes some serious bravery! Sinead, Britney and Demi have all done it, too. Would you?

Britney's New Do: But What Does It Mean?

The pictures are everywhere: Britney Spears shaving her own head. At the young age of 25, she's famous, wealthy, accomplished in the music industry, twice divorced and the mother of two young children. Lately, she's raised eyebrows with her questionable fashion choices, missing panties and inelegant photographs, and constant clubbing. She now seems to be flirting with rehab, which means she may not be honestly in touch with the gravity of her situation.

We all surmise she's lost, out-of-control, and in need of real and serious help. But there's still the question of why Britney would shave her head, what the significance or motivation behind such a decision might be.

In this brief editorial, one therapist suggests it's an act of rebellion against her mother and management, after over a decade of control:

And Britney has the biggest job of all, she needs to learn to love life again. This is a massive act of rebellion and if it isn’t caused by the puppeteered life she has had, then you can bet your bottom dollar that she is wanting to escape, to break out of the body of Britney. The trouble with the act she has made is that is that the real problems are only ever within, that is the place where there work must be done.

And in this longer article, psychoanalyst Bethany Marshall delves into the ways in which Britney may be acting out because she hasn't developed the skills to express herself in healthy, assertive ways:

"This is a major form of acting out," she said. "She's not using words and language as a way to express what's going on. She's doing things - the crotch shots, shaving her head, the tattoos. It says that she hasn't learned to assert herself and become independent through self assertion rather than through acting out.

"The hair represents the stylists, the handlers, people who are in control of her life and manage her looks," Marshall added. "Now she's saying, I'm in charge of my looks."

Marshall also suspects that the shearing and the tattoos could have been Britney's rebellion against the insistence she go to rehab. Sadly, she may have left in order to assert personal control of her life. Marshall also suggests that "psychotherapy would be the best thing for her," and hopes Britney will "seek therapy, have her own autonomous life . . . step out of the limelight for a while."

Things can only get better or worse for Britney. We here at DearSugar hope she puts down the scissors and grabs the chance to become an independent, responsible, and self-aware woman. Then she can shave her head again, just because she wants to.

End of Watch Trailer: Jake Gyllenhaal Is a Cop With a Target on His Back

In the trailer for End of Watch, Jake Gyllenhaal's closely shaved head is a bit of a distraction, but once you get past it, there's a lot going on. Gyllenhaal stars as Brian Taylor, an LAPD cop who enjoys his day job of busting perps with his friend and partner, played by Michael Peña. It's business as usual out on the streets for the cocky pair, until they happen upon a crime scene that makes them the target of a dangerous drug cartel. That threat is scary enough, but it's made more troubling considering that the men are both starting families.

Between the reality-show-style POV, the electric-guitar riffs that indicate this movie is intense, and all the gunfire, the trailer gave me a headache. Still, it's worth it to see Gyllenhaal in such a tough-guy role - not to mention the brief but funny scene of him busting a move with his new wife (Anna Kendrick) at their wedding. The film comes out Sept. 28, but you can check out the trailer after the jump.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you're not going to save by drinking vodka! However, the liquor actually has a couple of household uses that will come in handy. Not to mention, you won't be splashing unnecessary money on products and you'll be doing the environment some good because it's less toxic. Invest in a bottle of cheap vodka to stretch your dollar in these ways:

Clean Your Clothes: First, do a spot test on the piece of clothing just to be on the safe side. If the material stays in the same condition, spray vodka on the outfit. It'll keep your clothes fresh in between laundry loads and kill any lingering odors. The liquor is also a good stain remover, so dab some on stubborn stains before throwing your clothes into the washer.
Get Rid of Mold: Spray it on the mold in your bathroom, and after letting it soak in for a good while, wipe it clean. The alcohol will kill the mold.
Air Freshener: Make a one part vodka and three parts water solution and pour it into a spray bottle. Start spraying away to get rid of any odor in the room.
Prevent Flowers From Wilting: Add a few drops of vodka into your flower vase to preserve your lovely bouquet. Vodka lengthens the life of the blooms because it inhibits ethylene production, which is what helps the plant mature, according to the Scientific American.
Repel Insects: Use vodka as an ingredient for a bug repellent. DIYlife.com recommends to mix it with apple cider vinegar and drops of citronella or eucalyptus essential oil. Spray it on yourself or areas you don't want bugs to come crawling, such as your patio furniture.
Polish and Shine: Take a piece of cloth, wet it with vodka, and clean your eyeglasses with it. Alternatively, you can also mix it with some water, then spray the liquid on windows and mirrors to make them shine. So long, Windex!
Glue Remover: Remove the sticky residue left from peeling the label off jars by rubbing the leftover glue with a soft cloth soaked in vodka. You can also use this to dissolve the sticky residue that Band-Aids leave on your skin.
Preserve Razor Blades: After shaving, leave your blades in vodka for a while to disinfect and prevent them from rusting.
Treat Dandruff: Mix one cup vodka with two teaspoons crushed rosemary, then strain the mixture through a coffee cup filter and let it sit for two days before applying it to your head and letting the solution dry.

Remember, getting an inexpensive brand is key - you don't want to shill out big bucks and waste money on something you'll be wiping your windows with!

Matthew McConaughey was decked out in his usual workout gear and a backpack as he left the Sonya Dakar skin clinic in Beverly Hills today. Matthew recently shaved his head, but he covered up the new look with a gray beanie. He hasn't commented on the decision to lose his blond locks, but he does have a new movie that could be the cause for the drastic change. Matthew is currently filming Thunder Run, but he also has Magic Mike, Mud, and The Paperboy in the works.
