According to People UK, the Spice Girls are in talks with L'Oreal about
starring in its new series of "Because You're Worth It" hair advertisements.

"The girls like the idea of following in the footsteps of all the big names who've worked for L'Oreal. So it looks like the talks are going to go smoothly."

With multi-million dollar endorsements like this one, as well as the cute commercial they did for UK Superstore Tesco, the Spice Girls are looking at banking some serious bucks. How do you feel about them landing a L'Oreal campaign - do you think they are as "worth it" as pretty predecessors J. Lo, Beyonce, and Kate Moss?

Love It or Hate It? Mel B.'s VMA Makeup

Okay, I have to be honest with all of you: I looked at Mel B. and thought, "Wow, she looks amazing! Eddie Murphy must feel like such a cad for treating her so rudely." The best revenge is looking great, they say, and Mel's big smile shows that she's living it up.

But then I looked closer, and saw visible lip liner. Gah! Melanie Brown, you know better! Still, we all make a makeup faux pas now and then (remember Paris' lipsticky teeth?), and overall, this Spice is far from scary. What do you think?

How-To: Leighton Meester's Copper-Toned Glow

Looks like Leighton got the memo, as she's matched her lipstick to her dress at last night's Chloé opening in LA. The actress chose to stick to a more toned-down feel, opting for muted orange cheeks and lips to match her dress.

Wearing makeup tones in the same color family creates a cohesive, natural look. By wearing just a touch of shimmering shadow on the lids, Leighton takes the look to nighttime glamour without overdoing it. If you'd like to try out this luxe copper-toned style, check out my tips on re-creating her cinnamon look when you read more.

Cheeks: Give yourself a burst of glowing color on the cheeks with a creamy-textured blush. I like Avon Be Blushed Cheek Color in Tropical Peach ($6).
Lips: Add a little spice to your lips with a soft, warm shade with orange undertones. Try Stila Lip Glaze in Cinnamon ($22) or CoverGirl Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers Lip Gloss in Tangerine Splash ($5).
Eyes: Apply a glittery or shimmery copper shadow to the lids, such as Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Chopper ($16). Next, apply a rich brown shadow to the crease and blend, using this same shade to lightly line around the eyes for emphasis. Try L'Oreal Wear Infinite Single Eye Shadow in Deep Mocha ($4.25). Add a little brownish-black mascara, and you'll be good to go.

Love It or Hate It? Melanie Brown's MTV VMAs Look

When Melanie Brown used to perform as her Spice Girl alter ego Scary Spice, her look usually involved frosty eyeshadow, masses of corkscrew curls, and lip liner (it was the '90s, after all). Luckily, there's nothing scary about her look at this year's VMAs: her sleek layered hair and pretty violet eyeshadow make it clear she's not living in the past. If I had to fault her for anything, she may have gone just a tinge too bright on the blush, but I'm ready to forgive her for it. Are you?

Bella Donna: Ronnie Spector

Girl groups from the Spice Girls to Le Tigre might not exist were if not for Ronnie Spector, the lead singer of 1960s girl band The Ronettes and first wife of murder suspect (and alleged nutball) Phil Spector. During a time when multiracial, all-female bands (Ronnie and her sister-cum-bandmate Estelle's mother was black and Native American, their father Irish) were uncommon, The Ronettes topped charts. Their most famous song, "Be My Baby" (yes, from Dirty Dancing) has been covered or sampled by bands from The Beatles to Concrete Blonde to Amy Winehouse. Ronnie (born Veronica Yvette Bennett) released a memoir in 2004 titled Be My Baby: How I Survived Mascara, Miniskirts, and Madness.

The Ronettes began performing together as The Darling Sisters in 1959, and when the oldest member was 18, the group won a talent show at The Apollo. While in line for The Peppermint Lounge (a Manhattan disco owned by the Genovese crime family) a couple of years later, the trio were mistaken for a no-show band and ended up on stage. Before long, they hooked up with producer Phil Spector, who is credited with getting them to adopt a more rocker style by wearing beehives and heavy eyeliner.

How-To: Audrina Patridge's Hills Finale Party Makeup

One thing's for certain: If Audrina Patridge is feeling left out or sad these days, it certainly isn't showing. On Monday night at The Hills finale party, she showed off long and shiny hair, bronzed makeup, and clear skin.

I've gathered a few product and application suggestions so you can re-create her sultry metallic eyes and shiny nude lips at home.

FACE: Audrina is young, so her skin doesn't need much coverage. Start by smoothing concealer over any dark circles and red spots and then dust a loose mineral foundation all over your face extending just below your jaw.

CHEEKS: You'll want a little bit of a shimmery, tan glow, so I recommend applying a little bronzing powder such as Laura Mercier Mineral Powder SPF 15 in Warm Bronze to your temples, cheekbones, nose (and a dab on your chin). Then use a creamy blush. I suggest something like Nars Cream Blush in Lokoum and dot it on your cheeks blending upwards and outwards. This combination will create a healthy, flushed glow.
EYES: Begin by sweeping a champagne shadow all over you lids. Then apply a gold shadow such as Too Faced Shimmer Veils in Angel Hair to the inner half of your lids and a darker, black shadow in the outer half. Blend well.
Next, line your eyes with a creamy black pencil and extend the upper portion a little bit. Apply false lashes and top with two coats of black mascara. Then, line the inner rims of your lower lids with a white pencil (as a brightening effect). Lastly, take a little bit of your gold shadow and smudge it just below your black liner on the bottom.
LIPS: Use a nude lip liner such as MAC Spice and fill in your lips. Then apply a generous amount of shiny pale to neutral lip gloss like The Balm Shelter Lip Gloss in Dream Girl. Keep reapplying all night long for a camera-ready, bright smile.

When Posh Spice transformed from cheeky Spice Girl to British celebutante Victoria Beckham, her looks transformed dramatically. It's great to see her having fun with her hairstyles, now we've just got to get her to smile once in a while for the cameras. What's with the serious pout, Posh? My favorite look is the third one. Her bob is slightly below her chin and it looks soft yet still very stylish. Which hairstyle do you prefer on Posh?

Today’s installment of the gold makeup series is about gilded eyeliner. Available in powder, liquid and gel forms, gold eyeliner has been a runway trend since Fall 2007. It’s a fun and sexy way to spice up your look for a party without going too over-the-top. Here are three gold eyeliners, I think you’ll love just as much as I do.
