A Charlize Theron lookalike runs from a scary, scary spaceman in this vintage commercial for . . . conditioner. Was it a takeoff on Tron, a salute to Star Trek? We may never know - but thanks to Sunsilk, at least we'll all have fluffy feathered hair. (On second thought, maybe I'll take my chances with the space pirate.)

Madonna Is Successful Because of Her... Hair?!

The Super Bowl commercials are starting to hit the Web, and drugstore shampoo brand Sunsilk has just debuted its ad. It features Marilyn Monroe, Shakira, and Madonna, and the idea is that "Life Can't Wait." As a shampoo commercial, it's a little perplexing. Are we to believe that good hair is the impetus for their success? Don't get me wrong, a great cut and color can do wonders, but I hardly think Madonna became an international superstar because of her hair.

New Product Alert: Alterna Caviar Seasilk Shampoo and Conditioner

I love Alterna products, and the hair-care brand's newest invention sounds especially luxe. Called Caviar Anti-Aging Seasilk Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner, this combo contains caviar extract, vitamin C, and seasilk, an ingredient previously available only in skincare products. It's an anti-aging agent that increases elasticity and shine while also hydrating and nourishing unbalanced or dry hair.

Yes, hair does age. Not only does it get thinner as the years ago by, but hair follicles also suffer from environmental, sun, and chemical damage. This shampoo ($30) and conditioner ($32) duo, which comes in volumizing and moisturizing varieties, shields hair from further damage, helps to refine the texture of damaged hair strands, and protects color from oxidization and fading.

Get Madonna's Wavy Hairstyle, Straight From Her Stylist

Madonna is in the last weeks of her sold-out Sticky and Sweet tour, and after seeing her dance around the stage, all I have to say is, 50 seems like a lot of fun - and it looks pretty good, too. M's makeup artist, Gina Brooke, showed us how to get the tour makeup look earlier this fall, and now hair stylist Andy LeCompte shares the scoop on Madonna's sexy, wavy hair.

Work with your natural texture. "Every time we set a look for tour, I always try to do something that is wavy," LeCompte explains. "Madonna has naturally wavy hair, so I consider sweat, moisture, and humidity - all of the elements in a live show."

For maximum bounce, keep your products simple. "In the show, I avoid using sticky products and sprays that weight the hair down. The only product I use is Sunsilk Waves of Envy Sea Mist ($3.99). It's a salt water and silicone-based product that I mist in Madonna's hair to give it a bit more texture."

Use the right tool. Skip the curling iron and use a tool specifically designed to make waves. LeCompte swears by the Revlon 3-Barrel Jumbo Waver ($18.83), which creates S-shaped waves. "I also used it on Britney for the 'Human Nature' video to give her Madonna-like waves," he adds.
