Kate Moss has been creating a bit of a frenzy in the hair world lately. First, she partnered up with her long-time stylist, James Brown, to create a line of hair-care products, then she threw on a platinum-blonde wig for her latest ad campaign for Topshop. Now the model turned hair chameleon is rocking the bangs. '80s style. James Brown told the Daily Mail that he loves "Kate's hair a shorter length and the fringe really looks amazing. There's almost an element of a young Michelle Pfeiffer." There definitely is a strong Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface thing going on. We know that her stylist likes it, but what do you think?

Fab Flash: Kate Moss's Future Appearance at Barneys

In support of her new collection for Topshop, it was just announced that on May 8th Ms. Moss will be coming to Barneys New York!

Barneys will be the only retailer carrying her Topshop collection in the US. In the past, Barneys has sold other Topshop pieces, such as Stretch Skinny Jeans, which have been extremely successful. To bring even more drama to the event, the famed Simon Doonan will be installing the windows for the collection.

Julie Gilhart, Fashion director of Barneys New York, is pretty stoked about the line. She has already set aside a grey t-shirt that is embellished with metal studs as well as a little chiffon dress - lucky her!

Beauty Byte: Topshop Pulls "Jesus" Cosmetics

If you like religious kitsch, then don't plan a trip to Singapore. After receiving complaints about a cosmetics line called Lookin' Good For Jesus, Topshop has pulled all of the products from its shelves. The line features lip balm (in "virtuous vanilla"), bubble bath ("Feel like you're walking on water!"), and a "King-size" tote bag, among other cheeky items.

Catholics found the items "disrespectful and distasteful," and Topshop has pulled all of the products. The line is from Blue Q, which also makes the Dirty Girl body-care line. It's always a little bit jokey - witness its tongue-in-cheek Queen soap - but this is the first time I remember this much of a hullabaloo over the products. Have a look below. Do you think they're offensive, or is it just good clean fun?

Taylor Momsen had quite the Manhattan adventure last night. She attended two events, sporting different looks with just a change of lipstick and fluff of the hair. At the star-studded Topshop opening, the Gossip Girl actress rocked some seriously glossy hot pink lips, steel gray smoky eyes, and wavy locks. And for her appearance at Nylon's 10th anniversary party, she chose to switch it up with softer hair and a deep red, semimatte lip. Are you sensing a Courtney Love or Olsen twins vibe here, or is it just me?

How-To: Wear Black Lip Gloss

A month or so back, I told you about the black lip trend this Fall and gave some options for lipsticks and glosses, should you care to venture onto the dark side. I spent the better part of yesterday deciding whether there were any circumstances under which I could wear black lip gloss (Halloween withstanding).

Especially for small lips, it helps to layer a pearly shade on top of a black lip gloss, which is not an easy feat as the result is usually a weird shade of greige, which is even more zombie looking than straight up black. But there's hope: At the Spring shows, Vivienne Westwood sent teal-black lips down the runway and models for Topshop Unique wore a purple ebony color, hinting that wearable black is in our future.

So for now, my secret concoction for a shimmery black cherry is as follows: Two layers of Benefit Benetint ($28) followed by one layer of Armour Beauty Femme Fatale Lip Gloss ($19) followed by a dollop of Yves Saint Laurent Beaute Touche Brilliance in Pure Diamond ($29). Except it's not a secret anymore, because I just told you.

Pete Doherty may be calling Kate an "old rag", but why should she care? She's on a roll: Her Topshop clothing line is hot, and this fall, Kate the Great's fragrance will arrive in stores.

The launch party gave us some insight into Kate the fragrance, but today WWD reports more details and previews the ad campaign. The scent is a floral musk, with top notes of orange blossom absolute, forget-me-not and pink pepper. The scent's heart notes are lily of the valley, heliotrope, magnolia, peony, and rose petal. Base notes include sandalwood, musk, vetiver, ambret seeds and patchouli-something that doesn't surprise me, considering Kate's penchant for slumming it at outdoor rock festivals.

"When I put it on I want to feel fresh and light and as the day goes on I want to feel sexier," Kate told WWD. But if you, too, want to put it on, you'll have to head to Europe or Asia this September; Americans won't get a chance to buy it until a year later.

Rumor also has it that Miss Moss is collaborating on a hair care line with stylist friend James Brown. (That's exciting, but not half as exciting as it would be if Kate had done so with the late, great godfather of soul.) Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing the first reviews of Kate's fragrance. Then again, considering her popularity, it could smell like Pete Doherty and it would still make millions.

Beauty Byte: Kate Moss Kicks Off Her Fragrance

Kate Moss really is everywhere lately, jetting from the Topshop offices in London earlier this week to a hip soiree in Morocco yesterday. According to Women's Wear Daily, supermodel Moss was in Marrakesh to celebrate her fragrance, called Kate, which we first heard about in December. The signature scent hits the European and Asian markets in September. The scent will roll out in U.S. stores in 2008.

WWD spoke with Bernd Beetz, CEO of Coty, the license holder for the fragrance. (Is it just me, or does Coty handle pretty much every celebrity scent?) According to the story:

The beauty giant aims to capitalize on the wide-ranging appeal that has kept Moss the toast of the fashion set and a household name for two decades.

“[We will] tap into consumer groups that we haven’t tapped into before,” said Bernd Beetz, chief executive officer of Coty, who added the company is building its portfolio on fashion-, designer- and celebrity-oriented pillars. “[Moss] overlaps fashion and celebrity.”

Classified as a floral musk and clad in pink-and-black packaging, Kate will cost about $27 to $60, depending on the size. Not surprisingly, Moss herself will appear in the ads for the product. Will you buy the eau de Kate?
