Doing Drugstore: Clean and Clear Makeup Dissolving Facial Cleansing Wipes

Sometimes laziness or overindulgence happens. In those cases, I don't feel like going through the whole process of my nightly face-care ritual, but I also don't want to wake up the next morning with makeup and mascara melting down my face from the previous day. That's where facial wipes come into play. Recently, I tried Clean and Clear Makeup Dissolving Facial Cleansing Wipes ($6) on a particularly sluggish one-petit-syrah-too-many evening.

With 25 wipes in the package, I figure each sheet costs just under a quarter - a fairly reasonable price. While nothing beats the old facial soap and water routine, I like having these wipes on hand in a pinch, and even as a little refresher before touching up my makeup for after-work cocktails. I appreciate the fact that these wipes are oil-free, do not have an overly strong odor, and did not leave behind a burning sensation. Don't expect these sheets to eliminate all traces of your makeup, but you can expect to feel good that at least some makeup removal effort was put forth before heading to bed. Now only if they could remove a hangover . . .

Looky here – it's another new individual-use towelette product, and this time it comes in the form of an exfoliator. Comodynes has got it right. This brand is super-popular in Europe and I'm so happy to see that the US is finally catching on. It makes all kinds of individually wrapped beauty products to make going to the gym and travelling a cinch. Not only do you not have to worry about getting stopped at security for carrying liquids, but isn't it great to come home with less than you brought with you?

These new Easy Peeling Towelettes ($1.99 each) are a great way to say goodbye to dry, dull and dead cells and hello to bright, buffed and polished skin.

Personally, I love using the pads because they are mess free, easy to travel with and they save you a step when you're taking off your makeup! It looks like atoxicsparkle is also a fan of these super gentle Neutrogena® Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes, $8 - aren't they fab! Beauty Mark It! An "Un" Beauty Vacation

Next month, I'm going on a much-needed vacation to beautiful Central America to see the picturesque countries of Guatemala and Belize. No doubt it will be a completely different world than my current fast-paced location of New York Fashion Week. I won't be packing my Shady Lady, and I won't be applying any fancy face serums either. Blow dryer and flat iron? Not needed.

It's going to be hot and humid where I'm traveling, and since it's just me, I'll be packing very light. Most of my days and nights will be spent exploring the history, natural beauty, and culture of each country, so I need my minimized beauty routine to be simple and condensed.
