Emmy Awards Reality Hosts Get Black and Blue and Boo

Oprah wowed in red as she opened the show after the cool What's my line? clip but unfortunately following her was the reality hosts talking about nothing. It was almost as uncomfortable as watching Ricky Gervais ask for his Emmy back from Steve Carell. Yes it was funny but I was getting a bit worried that Steve was going to cry or beat the crap out of him. Other quick thoughts: Steve Martin, Genius. Josh Groban, surprisingly cool! Neil Patrick Harris and Kristin Chenoweth, favorite presenting couple. Cruel joke that was perfect - making reality TV host category wait until after the commercial break to see who won. Desperate Housewives all dolled up. Yay Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin and Mad Men! Click here for all the winners from last night. As for next year, let's hope the Emmys settle on one host since this year's group was like an experiment gone bad... even if some of Tom Bergeron and Heidi Klum's banter was pretty entertaining - that huge black and blue mark is going to hurt tomorrow.

Lindsay Helps the Ugly Betty Girls Premiere Season Three!

The cast of Ugly Betty including Lindsay Lohan celebrated the upcoming third season of their show last night in NYC. Lindsay looked great and seemed in better spirits than when she punched a paparazzi (whoops) the night before, signing autographs for fans outside the party and posing on the red carpet before ducking out to Dina's birthday party. America Ferrera, Becki Newton and Ana Ortiz smiled together while all the cast members are thrilled to be shooting in NYC and to get back on the air. It's a big weekend ahead for Ugly Betty - America and Vanessa Williams are up for Emmy Awards. Don't forget to fill out your ballot for a chance to win an HDTV!

ABC All Stars Pose Hands-on-Hips and Party the Night Away

After spending a long day sitting on panels and fielding questions at the TCAs, the ABC and Disney stars got dressed up and hit the red carpet last night. Despite moving filming to NYC, the Ugly Betty beauties like Becki Newton (get her look here) were representing, even with no America Ferrera. Mixing our medical shows, Kate Walsh hung all over Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence celebrating life back on ABC. Nick Lachey didn't have Vanessa on his arm but looked handsome out promoting his High School Musical reality show. Stars Perform for a Good Cause at A Night At Sardi's

A whole host of stars from the acting world came out yesterday to attend, and perform at, the 16th Annual Alzheimer's benefit A Night At Sardi's in Beverly Hills. Ugly Betty's Becki Newton and Vanessa Williams performed numbers from Bye, Bye Birdie, which was directed by Seinfeld's Jason Alexander, as did Heroes' Kristen Bell and Zachary Quinto. Producer David E. Kelley's Boston Legal won the Abe Burrows Entertainment Award for its portrayal of Alzheimer's, with the show's Tara Summers and Taraji P. Henson also in attendance at the fundraiser.

Saffron Burrows, who's film The Bank Job is number one at the UK box office, also took to the stage in a presenting role, as did Portia de Rossi, and Michelle Pfeiffer looked beautiful at the cocktails. Many of the stars commented on the sad news of Patrick Swayze's battle against pancreatic cancer, with Jason Alexander summing up what is surely on all our minds: he said "this is shocking news, we wish him well".

Denzel's Debaters Wins Big at the NAACP Awards

Last night the ladies looked easy and breezy on the red carpet at the NAACP Awards but it was dapper Denzel who took home top honors. The Oscar presenter may not be nominated for any Academy Awards this year but he did score 4 Image Awards last night for his movie The Great Debaters including Best Actor and Best Motion Picture. The evening also included Hall of Fame winner Stevie Wonder who has quite a few fabulous things to say about Obama and Hillary as well as a great performance. Janet Jackson presented the singer with his honor and she also scored her own award for Best Supporting Actress in Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married? Earth-Tone Wearing Girls Are Breezy at NAACP Awards

Award season rolled on last night in LA at the 38th Annual NAACP Image Awards. The ladies of the night went with fairly similar necklines and earth tones, which happened to complement Vanessa Williams, America Ferrera and Jordin Sparks. Chandra Wilson is loving herself some sequins recently (can you blame her) while Kate Walsh kept it delightfully more understated. Speaking of all these phenomenal women, many of them walked away with statues last night. Both America and Vanessa won acting awards for Ugly Betty while Grey's Anatomy scored for best drama series. Disney party! Some of the world's biggest tween sensations came together in Hollywood last night to celebrate the premiere of Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert 3D. Budding fashionista Miley herself was the belle of the ball, of course, showing off a darker hair do and some heavy eyeliner alongside HSM 3 star Ashley Tisdale and those heart-throbby (I guess) Jonas Brothers. At only 15, Miley is quite the teen queen, but she had a few thoughts on her predecessor Britney Spears' current situation. She said, "I think it's so crazy and I think that she needs help...If I didn't have them [my family], I'd probably be in the same position...You just got to know who your true friends are and I think for me, is my mom. If you have sisters, I mean any girls that are in your family, that can understand and relate to you, I think is the best.”

Enzo's HomeAgain with Vanessa Williams

When Vanessa Williams' pooch, Enzo, went missing this summer, he was found two weeks later and a state away thanks to his microchip! After this happy return, the actress decided to join forces with HomeAgain to announce Bring Pets Home, a nationwide campaign to microchip and enroll two million pets by the end of the year. I strongly encourage all dog and cat owners to get their pets fitted with a microchip, in addition to providing ID tags with current addresses and phone numbers. It's only a small price to pay – North got fitted with his HomeAgain tag for only $39!

Get Ready For A New Season At Mode

Pop's got all her new favorite shows already season passed on the TiVo, but tonight some older favorites are coming back - yay. The 9 o'clock hour is a difficult toss up between The Office and Grey's, but at 8 tonight it's all about Betty. In terms of how much fun a cast has together on set, I have to believe that Ugly Betty is one of the best - look at them together! Not only are we reuniting with America and Vanessa, but the rest of the excellent cast like Michael Urie and Becki Newton are coming back to our living rooms, too. My girl Buzz got a chance to sit down with Becki and talk about life on Betty and what it takes to play a character like Amanda. She's hilarious and totally down to earth - check it out here.

It Was A Very Well-Rounded Emmy Show

Ryan Seacrest put his best hosting face forward at last night's Emmy Awards, but it was the round stage that really stole the show. The concept was cool, but it definitely made for some awkward moments, right? The Rainn Wilson/Kanye West version of Don't Forget The Lyrics was a highlight, along with Steve Carell "stealing" Ricky Gervais' Emmy. Dempsey = McDreamier than ever, yes? Christina/Tony also did a great job at a show that was obviously paying homage to Bennett in a lot of ways (icymi, check out the performance here). Hopefully the Jersey Boys tribute to The Sopranos made Tony Soprano Proud. Check out Buzz's take on the big show, but what did you think about it? Highlights? Lowlights? Did Seacrest make you laugh?

Young Hollywood Comes Out For More Musical

The young stars of High School Musical 2 headed to Disneyland last night to premiere the sequel to last year's cultural phenomena. We're happy to see that Zac left the most of the makeup to his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, who looked fabulous on the blue carpet. Cindy Crawford showed the young girls how it's done, looking as model-perfect as ever. The HSM mania has definitely skyrocketed its stars to fame, and according to Ms. Tisdale it's all because of their fans. She said, "I mean this is really crazy. It's absolutely surreal. The fans are amazing. They really are. We did the first movie we never thought it was gonna be this huge." HSM2 premieres this Friday on the Disney channel.

Ugly Betty's Beautiful People Gear Up For Season 2

All the lovely stars of Ugly Betty took a little time out of their summers to get together and have a panel discussion about their hit show over the weekend. I just watched Betty for the first time over the weekend and I'm already hooked (and plowing through the season on iTunes). Since when was Eric Mabius so dreamy? Need a refresher on your favorite Mode employees? Check out Buzz's Five Questions for the show as it enters its sophomore season. "Shear Genius": Seriously, Put the Hedge Clippers Down

This week's "Shear Genius" featured one of the greatest yelling, screaming, obscenity-laced fights I've ever seen on reality television, and it was all because of ... hedge clippers? Yeah. Evangelin got a little too attached to her gigantic shears this week and insisted on continuing to cut hair with them, thus leading Danna and Tabatha to school her on the difference between "a technique" and "a gimmick." Rene Fris finally let her down gently by pointing out that it's slightly unprofessional to point hedge clippers at an unsuspecting client's head just because you can, but I wouldn't be surprised if people who go to Evangelin's salon will be getting hedge cuts from now on. And that's one of many reasons why I'm never going to Evangelin's salon.

For the Short Cut Challenge, the stylists had to cut their models' hair into a style that could go from day to evening in under five minutes. Boogie - who, to my great disappointment, did not wear scrubs in a single scene this week - attempted to bring the mullet back, while Ben basically gave his model the same haircut she had to start with. His model's evening look was cute, though, so I'll give him a pass. Danna's cute braided 'do got top honors, which I support, because it meant getting to hear more of her awesome accent.

The elimination challenge was to create a red carpet look for Vanessa Williams, who I expected would lay the smack down on anyone who threatened to give her a "hair don't." She was surprisingly mild-mannered, though - no Wilhelmina Slater here! - which was disappointing, because wow, some of those stylists did some really bad prom hair. To see for yourself, read more

I'm pretty bummed that these pictures weren't shot from the back, because that's (to quote "Ugly Betty") where the tragic happened. Ben's updo melted into a puddle of gross, while Boogie's looked like some sort of futuristic helmet. Evangelin had the worst disaster of all, with weird straight-then-curly tendrils and a big poofy top and a horrid rat tail in the back. Unsurprisingly, she was eliminated.

Danna won with her elegant updo that reminded me of woven ribbons. Yay, more accent!

Next week: From the looks of the preview, it'll be a battle of the platinum blonds - Tabatha and Tyson. I would not want to get in Tabatha's way; that woman is fierce.

Beautiful Ugly Bettys Gather in LA

The beautiful stars of Ugly Betty came together in LA last night to celebrate the show. I just love it that this crew always looks like they genuinely enjoy each other's company. Unfortunately the show's creator, Salma Hayek, wasn't in the house, but America glowed enough for the both of them. And while to me Eric Mabius will always be the Dean on The OC and the Fiancé on The L Word, he's pretty cute on Ugly Betty and in these shots as well.
