Try a Beatnik Look Out This Halloween

Get in touch with your philosophical side and go for a beatnik look this Halloween. The beatnik movement centered on the the underground counter-culture of the '50s and '60s, particularly in NYC and San Francisco. And to get the distinctive look, an all-black ensemble is a must, along with a little inspiration from the lovely Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face and the recent photos of Taylor Swift filming a Target commercial. Further capture the essence of this Beat Generation style by wearing a bobbed wig or '60s-esque ponytail with bangs. Top it off with some black-rimmed glasses, a beret, and minimal makeup; a touch of natural-toned lipstick and perhaps a bit of cat-eyed black liner will do. After all, it's all about rejecting a material way of life, daddy-o.
