Recreate LC's Double Braids With Tips From Her Stylist!

Just when we thought there couldn't possibly be any more ways to wear braids, who better than trend-setting Lauren Conrad to bring us back in? At the Hollywood Style Awards last night in LA, the former reality show star styled her signature waist-length extensions in not just one side-braid, but two intersecting plaits. Celebrity stylist Byron Williams of the Byron and Tracey Salon created the look for Lauren, using her multihued frock as inspiration.

"We wanted to get it as narrow as possible because we didn’t want to overwhelm the dress," Williams said. "It was side-parted, and we French braided both sides. It’s kind of half-up, half-down." Celebrities spend so much time in the hair and makeup chair that they become super-duper close to their clientele. Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox pal around together with friend and hairstylist Chris McMillan often, and Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves are best friends! I'm not that close to my hairdresser, but I do love him.

If you haven't heard of makeup and hairstylist Byron Williams yet, don't worry, you will! Byron, who is originally from Korea, came to the Los Angeles to study fashion and design, but realized his passion lay more in hair and makeup. After attending the Vidal Sassoon Academy and working at Prive Salon (practically a Beverly Hills landmark), he decided to open his own salon on Robertson Boulevard called Byron Studio.

Four years later, he has mentions in every top-tier magazine and blog,not to mention a red-hot celebrity following that includes Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, Nicole Richie, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Joy Bryant, Kirsten Dunst, Amanda Peet and Rachel Zoe. He also has a line of all-natural hair care products called BYRON Haircare and recently, he opened a second salon called Byron Williams, which is located in Beverly Hills.

Byron continues to climb the ranks as one of the world's most sought-after beauty technicians. BELLASUGAR: When you look at a face you are about to make up, where do you draw your inspiration for a look?
BYRON WILLIAMS: The first thing I look at is their cheekbones, then I assess their eyes and their hair color and hair style.

BELLA: How do you determine the color palette that you are going to use?
BW: You can tell by skin tone, eye color and hair color what colors will look best on them. It is also important to consider what they are wearing and where they're going.

BELLA: Do you have signature look that you like to create?
BW: Yes, I am really inspired by Brigitte Bardot.

BELLA: What are your favorite brands to work with?
BW: For hair, my favorite brand is-of course-my line of shampoos, conditioners and styling products. As for makeup, I really like Vincent Longo.

BELLA: What are your favorite products to work with on the job?
BW: Byron Spirulina Hairspray ($24) and Byron Illuminating Mist ($18). As for makeup, definitely mascara and color for the cheeks.

BELLA: What are the best and worst parts of your job?
BW: The best part of my job is being able to express creativity freely every single day. And so far, there are no "worst" parts!

Hollywood makeup artist and hairstylist Byron Williams hosted a soiree in Beverly Hills on Thursday to celebrate his new salon, and the swanky, spa-tastic event was star-studded to say the least. Not surprising, considering that Williams - a veteran of the renowned Prive Salon in LA - counts Kirsten Dunst, Rachel Zoe, and Lindsay Lohan among his clients.

The other day I told you about professional hair extensions guru Sheila Stotts. She is revered in Hollywood as "the hairdresser's hairdresser," because it is in her chair that the first steps of hair magic begin. Lindsay Shows Us How Celebs Get "Done"

Yesterday, Lindsay Lohan went to see her buddy Byron Williams at his Los Angeles salon. Can't say I blame her; after interviewing him, I was impressed by his knowledge and experience. But this photo made me remember just how much work it takes for celebrities to look so flawless, and how it's a perk that the rest of us don't always see.

Don't get me wrong, Lindsay's a gorgeous girl on her own. But for red-carpet events and magazine photo shoots, it really does take a team of experts to make every last eyelash and tendril stay in place. I know you hear about this all the time, but after sitting in on a few photo shoots at a magazine, I really understand what a difference a good stylist (and good lighting) can make. We're talking 45-minute makeup applications, hours-long hairstyling marathons - the works. (And that's even for a "natural" look.)

So the next time you compare yourself to a "perfect" celebrity, remember that we'd all look flawless with a team of professionals giving us a little boost.
