Sarah Jessica's Covet Goes Missing From Macy's

Here's a strange development: On Saturday, I went to Macy's to check out some fragrances. All of the celebrity scents were in one kiosk, and Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely was among the most prominent - but where was her newer scent, Covet? Last year there was a ton of buzz (and one odd commercial) for Covet, but the green-tinted bottle was nowhere to be found. Instead, it had been replaced by Covet Pure Bloom, a more floral take in much more attractive lavender packaging.

In the fragrance biz, these sister scents are called flankers, but it's unusual to have one without the original. After asking around and doing a little sleuthing, I found out that the original Covet is no longer carried at Macy's (or at Nordstrom, for that matter). It's not completely surprising; it's a riskier scent than SJP's Lovely, and although I like it, it might not translate well for everyone. But if you love Covet, don't despair; the scent isn't being discontinued, and you can shop online. Better yet, take a peek at TJ Maxx or Marshall's, the latter of which was selling Covet for as little as $24.99. Between this perfume letdown, the end of her Bitten line, and the cheating rumors, SJP isn't exactly having the best summer - but at least that genderless fragrance she's working on is a bright spot.

How Do You Feel About Hair Extensions?

Clearly this isn't Sarah Jessica Parker's real hair from the launch of Covet at Macy's. They're extensions. Paris Hilton wears them and so does Nicole Richie. They are the quickest way to create thick, full and healthy hair. So if all of these A-List ladies are wearing them, does it mean that you'll jump on the bandwagon too? How do you feel about extensions?

Now that Sarah Jessica's Covet is in stores, the marketing blitz has gone full-tilt. Here's a short, cheeky little commercial set in Paris (which, of course, reminds me of the finale of SATC... sigh.) Whatcha think?

SJP Covet Is Finally Here!

Everyone can rejoice now that the highly anticipated fragrance Covet from Sarah Jessica Parker is finally in stores! You've heard the buzz and seen the ads, I've just gotten the details on what the actual fragrance smells like. Interested?

It's an extremely seductive blend of wet greens, geranium leaves, sicilian lemon, lavender, chocolate, honeysuckle, magnolia, muguet, michelia yunnanensis (a relative of magnolias), musk, vetiver, bois de cashmere, teakwood and amber. It's not too heady, not too sweet and I think it's actually very wearable for any time of day.

And tell me you're not kvelling over this jeweled top bottle! Talk about style-but would you really expect anything else from SJP? It has been created from weighted glass made to resemble a polished cabochon gem. The neck of the bottle is draped in a gold choker and the cap is a removable halo of smoky topaz rhinestones.

The collection includes a 3.4 oz Eau de Parfum spray ($68), a 1.7 oz Eau de Parfum Spray ($52), a 6.7 oz Body Lotion ($32), a 6.7 fl oz Bath & Shower Gel ($28) and a Solid Parfum Compact ($40). I'm already prepared to commit a sin if anyone should covet my bottle of Covet!

Sarah Jessica Parker Reveals More Details on Covet

This month's issue of Elle features Sarah Jessica Parker and how she's become not just a celebrity, but also a brilliant businesswoman. In the story, SJP talks about Covet, her new fragrance:

"I know this about me: I will only do something that I can completely and utterly, for better or worse, take the credit, take the blame for, 100 percent," she says. Indeed, the bigwigs at Coty seem bemused by just how deeply she plunged herself into her two fragrances-two-year-old Lovely and, new this month, Covet-obsessing over everything from the herringbone-pattern box to the ultraspecific note of geranium in the scent itself ("I like that the plant was pulled from the earth, so you smell all the green of the sand and the dirt, and just a little bit of those petals on the bottom," Parker says).

Covet is starting to roll out into Macy's stores already, but it isn't yet available online. The scent is supposed to be fresh and earthy, but like Sarah Jessica herself, it's in a classy-not-hippie manner. Did you like Lovely? Are you going to buy Covet when it's out? Beauty Byte: Learn to Covet SJP's New Scent

If Sarah Jessica Parker's first perfume, Lovely, was too girly-girl for you, then her latest scent, Covet, will rock your olfactory world. According to reports the scent, made of wet greens, geranium leaves, Sicilian lemon, lavender and chocolate, will hit Macy's in mid-July and will be distributed to other department and specialty stores after August. The actress drew inspiration from her hometown of New York City and knew from the very beginning that she wanted the smell to be more aggressive.

SJP's two fragrances represent the opposite sides of the same woman; Covet, which comes with a jeweled cap and gold herringbone neck, appeals to the saucy, bad girl side. Ladies, tuck away your lovely side for a while and let your ballsy woman roar!

While she keeps her makeup fairly simple, you know Fergie can't just stop right there. The center of her look this evening revolves around some very "Boom Boom Pow" locks, accentuated by reddish streaks that peek out from underneath those voluminous waves. Fergie, along with her group, the Black Eyed Peas, is up for several awards tonight, but are you going to be awarding the songstress with the coveted "love it" vote? Tell us now.

For fans of V or the classic Joss Whedon show Firefly, Morena should be a welcome addition to the red carpet roundup. Tonight she kept her look classically chic, with an Audrey-esque pixie cut, lightly lined eyes, and dusty rose lips. I love a pixie cut - check out more here - but what's your take on it? As Lucy could tell you, red is the rarest, and perhaps most coveted, hair color (so much so that Ms. Ball dyed her naturally blond hair her now iconic shade of carrot). And for thousands of years, people have been coming up with stories about it. In the Middle Ages, for example, people with a certain shade of red hair were considered unmistakably vampires or werewolves, and early Renaissance alchemists believed the blood of a red-haired man was necessary to turn copper into gold (aren't we sorta glad we live in a post-alchemy world?).
