4 Steps to Achieving Better Brows in a Flash

The eyebrows are the frames for beautiful eyes (that means they are important). And now that full, bold brows are in style, having the right moves for filling them in is essential. Makeup artist Floriane David of Make Up For Ever Academy reveals her expert secrets to achieving your best brows.

Form an outline: Start by using an angled brow brush to draw one long stroke underneath and above the eyebrow, advises David. This will help highlight your arch and create boundaries to color within.
Make high arches: Because the arch is the most important part of your brow look, it's where you should begin applying filler. This way, the arch will get the bulk of the product from your angled brush, making it a point of intensity.
Fill it in: Next, sweep your brush from the arch to the outer corner, keeping in mind that the last two-thirds of your brow should be the darkest. Then, move from the inner corner to the arch to blend, keeping in mind that this area of the brow should be filled in the lightest for the most natural look. When your brush is devoid of product, blend the end of your brow so that it tapers off at the tail.
Brighten up: As a final step, use a shimmering highlighter underneath the arch, on the cheekbone right below the eyes, and at the bridge of the nose. Hello, bright eyes.

His design, Magic Emotion Concept Eyewear, is a transparent band of LED-impregnated material called lightform that would make your face resemble an emoticon by displaying changing eyebrow shapes and expressions to actualize your inner thoughts.

The lightform "glasses" would read your emotions via a microdetector embedded in the specs' armature, monitoring your pulse, blood pressure, and muscle contractions. A detector small enough to put in the glasses without being noticeable isn't on the market yet, but Tan hopes one will be in the near future. Big, Beautiful Eyebrows From Scratch - Literally

Big, full brows are in, and at SoHo's Browhaus, you can get the look in just 90 minutes, but in a more unconventional kind of way. As part of the salon's signature Brow Resurrection service, highly trained technicians use special tools to scratch natural-looking strands onto the skin's surface. It all sounds rather painful, but the company promises the ouch factor is quite minimal.

During the service, a staff member works with the client to first analyze the facial structure and determine a brow shape and color. Once the perfect brow is agreed upon, the technician draws on the shape, numbs the skin with a cream, and then etches on lifelike "hairs" using 100 percent vegetable dye. It's a steep price at $925, but the veggie brows are meant to last for two years, providing a less permanent (and less painful) alternative tattooing. Eureka! I've Finally Discovered the Easiest, Fastest Brow-Filler Regimen

I've tried many brow-filling products as a result of a decade-old mishap involving an overly zealous tweezing experience, but recently I've struck gold (uh, taupe) with It Cosmetics' Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil ($24). Lots of eyebrow pencils look harsh, but this one, thanks to its smooth, glide-on texture and natural-looking hue, appears faint and realistic on the skin.

Even better, the pencil needs no sharpening, and since its formulation is not overly emollient, it settles to a semimatte finish, staying put all day long. A soft spooly brush on the opposite end of the stick helps even out any harsh lines without erasing any of your work. The only unfortunate thing I have to say about the product is that Miriam, aka blond-haired Bella, is unable to use it because it's just too dark for her coloring.
