How-To: Christina Applegate's SAG Awards Hairstyle

For the 2008 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Samantha Who nominee Christina Applegate arrived on the red carpet looking very old Hollywood. Celebrity hair stylist Adir Abergel created her gorgeous sparkly side-swept chignon using all Fekkai products. Her makeup was pale and flawless with lined black eyes and red lips. Plus, her gown was so pretty that she made FabSugar's best-dressed list!

Step 1: Since creating texture is key to this kind of look, begin by applying Fekkai Coiff Shape and Set Mist all over the hair from roots to ends. Next, blow-dry hair and finger comb through.
Step 2: Then, take a one-inch barrel curling iron, and curl two-inch sections of your hair, choosing random pieces all over your head. You do not have to curl every hair, only about two-thirds (since you are trying to create an uneven texture).
Step 3: Rub a dime-size amount of Fekkai Coiff Nonchalant in your palms and gently rub it all over your hair. This will create a soft hold.
Step 4: Use your fingers to hand rake your hair into a low side ponytail. Secure with a hair elastic at the nape of your neck, leaving the ponytail loose and slightly messy. Lastly, twist your ponytail to create a messy chignon and secure with bobby pins. Then, mist your entire head with Fekkai Sheer Hold hair spray.

Forthcoming from his Holiday 2007 Collection is Hi-lights Hair Mascara and Sparkling Shimmer Spray. Both of these are limited-edition hair products intended to help you get a festive and dazzling 'do.

Hi-lights Hair Mascara ($20) is similar to the old Dior hair mascaras that were big in the 90's. The difference: This has a modern formula that doesn't get ooey and gooey, and it will easily wash out with your next shampoo. It contains crushed diamonds and crushed pearl for intense shimmer and shine and is available in Gold (for blonde to light brown hair), and Cognac (for medium brown to black hair). Hi-Lights is also great for a quick touch-up if your roots are coming in and the salon is booked!

Sparkling Shimmer Spray ($13.50) is actually a Holiday product from last year, and it is back by popular demand. Basically you can think of it as fairy dust for your hair. It also contains crushed diamonds that add a gorgeous golden glisten to your hair without weighing it down.

How-To: Katherine Heigl's Emmy Awards Makeup Look

On Sunday night, Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl-that's high-gull, not high-gel -won her first Emmy. Not only did she look uber-glamorous in her long gown and red lips but her hair (styled by the talented Campbell McAuley who used Frederic Fekkai’s new Coiff products) was timeless and perfect. Speaking of timeless and perfect, did you get a look at her complexion? Wow.

Lucky for me, I made some fab new friends on my Parisian trip to Chanel and now I've got the inside info on the products used to create Katherine's red carpet look.

Face: Monika began by applying Chanel Vitallumière Satin Smoothing Fluid Makeup SPF 15 in Shell on Katherine's face. Then, she applied a touch of Pro Lumière Professional Finish Concealer in Light under her eyes and to any red areas and then she finished by dusting some Soft Touch Pressed Powder in Pêche Tendre over her entire face.
Cheeks: To add a touch of color to the perfect canvas, Monika swept one stroke of Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Narcisse and another stroke of Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Nude onto Katherine's cheeks.
Eyes: Next, Monika applied a little bit of Fluid Iridescent Eye Shadow in Sand and Silky Eyeshadow Duo in Dessert Rose to her lids, blending well. Then, she lined Katherine's eyes with Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Ebène (only on the top) and finally topped her top lashes with Inimitable Mascara in Noir and her bottom lashes with Inimitable Mascara in Bronze.
Lips: To make Katherine's lips really pop, Monika lined them first with Precision Lip Definer in Red and then filled them in with Rouge Allure Satin Finish Lipstick in Lover. Here's a tip for you: Monika used a little bit of Pro Lumière Concealer as a reverse lip liner to perfect the red lip and then powdered between coats to provide staying power.

Backstage Beauty: Alice + Olivia

Earlier this week, Fab reviewed the Alice + Olivia spring line, while Yum reported on the yummy cupcakes that were served. And now I've got the scoop on the models' hair.

The theme of the show was Alice in Wonderland, and it was held at the NYC boutique as opposed to a ballroom or the Bryant Park Tents. How quaint! Just so that you feel like you've really experienced this event, I've just recently gotten all of the information on how the wonderful (and I'm not just saying that because he's my hairdresser), Fabrice Gili from the Frederic Fekkai Salon in Soho, who styled all of the models' hair.

Step 1: Apply Fekkai Coiff Bouffant Lifting and Texturizing Spray Gel generously to the hair to give it a light hold.
Step 2: Next, blow dry hair very straight and apply a cold shot of air to reduce frizz.
Step 3: Finally, since bangs are blunt cut and full, use a round brush to give them volume at the roots and then go over them with your dryer using a paddle brush to ensure they lie flat. Finish by Spraying Fekkai Coiff Fini Sheer Hold Hairspray for added hold and shine.

New York Fashion Week, Fall 2007: Alice + Olivia

Friday night, Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet really shined as she debuted her Fall 2007 Collection on the last day of fashion week.

The look was very fresh and could take you from business to cocktail. I adored the white flirty number with crystals on the top and I especially loved the brown tight turtle neck paired with the high waisted multicolored skirt (shown) - very 60s indeed.

As for the hair, I've got the inside scoop! I spoke with the hairstylist Fabrice Gili from Frédéric Fekkai, about how he created this look:

Begin by adding a bit of Fekkai New Coif Foaming Milk to the hair (this product is coming soon). Next create a deep side part. To get the right angle, take a comb and line one side up with the end of your eyebrow and the other side up with the middle of the crown of your head. The part needs to be pointing upwards so that you can create volume at the crown.

Next, back comb the back of the crown (tease it) for lift. Then make a low ponytail and tease just the center of the loose hair. If you are feeling fun, feel free to add a little bit of glitter or sparkle along the center of the part!

Lastly, mist a little bit of Glossing Sheer Shine Mist, $22.50, all over your hair.
