Multiple Stars Set to Launch Their Second Celebrity Fragrances

The annual FiFi Awards took place earlier this week (see a list of winners here), and during the ceremony, celebrities in attendance had a lot to reveal about what they have coming up next. So popular their fragrances have been, many of them are set to launch their second fragrances in the coming months. Perfume-ophiles everywhere have been waiting with bated breath for the official announcement of the 2011 FiFi Awards nominees, and now they're here. Each year, The Fragrance Foundation holds its equivalent of the Oscars, awarding the best in perfumery in categories ranging from luxury to indie to mass market.

This year, my picks are Candide, a gorgeous jasmine fragrance from the amazing Mandy Aftel, and Anthropologie's beautiful collaboration with Le Labo, but there are several great scents competing. Want to see if your favorite scored a nomination? Then just keep reading.

The nose knows, and yesterday, a few fragrances were awarded at the Fragrance Foundation's annual FiFi Awards. FiFi Awards the Fragrances of the Year

Last night, beauty editors, celebrities, and cosmetics executives gathered in New York to celebrate the FiFi awards. It's often called the Oscars of the fragrance industry, which says as much about its prestige as it does about who's honored. It's rare to see small perfumes win Fragrance of the Year; instead, the Fragrance Foundation gives awards to scents with broader distribution. (So in that case, it really is like the Oscars!)

The women's fragrances of the year are Daisy Marc Jacobs, Intimately Beckham Women, Prada Infusion d'Iris, and Christian Lacroix Rouge (created with Avon). Do you think these perfumes deserved the honors? I personally can't understand the wild popularity of Daisy Marc Jacobs - it just doesn't do anything for me - but it looks like this scent is just getting bigger and bigger.

Get excited for the 36th annual 2008 FiFi Awards, which will take place on May 20th in New York City. This event, sponsored by The Fragrance Foundation, honors creativity within the fragrance industry - it's a huge deal in the biz.

To give you an idea of who's up for Fragrance of the Year for Women's Nouveau Niche, the nominees are:

Andy Warhol Silver Factory and New York Bryant Park by Bond No. 9, Gucci by Gucci, Prada Infusion d'Iris and Versace.

For Fragrance of the Year luxe women's category the nominees are:

Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche, Coach, Daisy Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana The One, Emporio Armani Diamonds, Hermès' Kelly Calèche and Nina by Nina Ricci.

Nicole Richie Celebrates Scents at NYC's FiFi Awards

Nicole Richie dressed up for last night's Fifi Awards in NYC. The annual event, which awards prizes to top sellers in the perfume industry, is usually a big celebrity draw. In addition to Nicole, yesterday's soiree brought out Michelle Monaghan, Josh Groban, Martha Stewart, and more. Nicole wore an Emilio Pucci dress to hit the red carpet and take the stage. Nicole traveled to the Big Apple after a stint in Australia with her family. Little ones Sparrow and Harlow Madden went to the zoo with Nicole in Sydney, one of the main adventures the family enjoyed Down Under. Dad Joel Madden has had to work a bit, though, as he's a mentor on the Oz version of The Voice. Nicole is expected back in Sydney by this weekend, as she's due to make an in-store appearance at a David Jones location.
