At last night's NYC premiere, Amy amped up the volume with some bouncy waves and a warm, glowing face. "We went for a steel and copper smokey lid, gorgeous full lashes, a peachy cheek, and a golden amber lip," said CoverGirl celebrity makeup artist Molly R. Stern, who created the look.

"Last night Amy wore a gorgeous full-length Carolina Herrera gown with a charcoal and white pattern speckled with gold beading. So I borrowed from that exquisite color palette," Stern said. Temptalia's Golden-Girl Halloween Look

I'd planned to feature a bunch of Halloween makeup how-to stories, with myself as the guinea pig. But then I saw what some of you are doing, and heck, you're totally showing me up! CocoChic's looks were amazing, and now here's another from Temptalia. A lot of you probably know Temptalia from her beauty blog, where she shows how to create tons of different looks. We met in person right before San Francisco Fashion Week, and I was stunned to find out that she's completely self-taught.

She says she's not bowled over by this look, but I think it's pretty cool. She used MAC Silver Fog pigment, Carbon eye shadow, and Immodest lipstick, with a bit of "cheap black liquid liner" as well. The gold-toned photos have been Photoshopped, but the silvery one is unretouched. Check it out:

Love It or Hate It? Nicole Scherzinger's Golden-Girl Look

"Hi, my name is Nicole Scherzinger and I am a class act." That's what I imagine this Pussycat Doll is thinking to herself. If I had her flawless, glowy skin and beautiful updo, I'd be doing the same thing. Really, I expected her to be among the VMA guests who did the whole raunchy-rocker thing, but instead, she looks stunningly elegant.

Then again, it is the VMAs, so maybe she should have gone for something wilder. What do you think?

2009 Golden Globe Awards: Cameron Diaz

Quintessential California girl Cameron Diaz looked more than just pretty in pink on the red carpet at tonight's Golden Globes - she looked stunning. Sure, she has her good genes to thank, but an excellent makeup and hair team helps, too. Her long, golden locks looked lovely in very low-key curls, and her makeup was just as effortless. Her bold red lips complemented her dress, but didn't distract from the overall look. And her rosy cheeks and matching eyes were just as cool. Do you think this is one of Cameron's best looks, or were you expecting more?

2009 Golden Globe Awards: Blake Lively

Gossip Girl Blake Lively may be miles away from her fictional flat on the Upper East Side, but she looked right at home on the red carpet at tonight's Golden Globes. While it's hard to make this girl appear anything other than stunning, I'm of two minds with this particular look. I think her makeup looks beautiful. The lips and cheeks are nicely rouged, and the eyes pop with their dark liner and long lashes. Her shadow even matches her dress. But, on the other hand, her hair looks just a tad too casual for this particular event. I would have preferred to see an updo, or even a sleek ponytail. Are you with me, or do you think this girl can do no wrong?
