Have you ever colored your hair, been displeased with the results, and immediately had the desire to revert your hair back to its original color? I hear you. Or, perhaps you have been coloring your hair so long, you don't even know the true tones of your natural locks any longer.

Do you know your film noir, doll? This cinematic genre often starred alluring actresses such as Veronica Lake, Rita Hayworth, and Ava Gardner. Common features of these types of films include a highly stylized appearance of both the characters and scenery, a crime, and some sort of dramatic, sexual undertone in the backdrop — think The Maltese Falcon and Out of the Past, or in more modern films, Basic Instinct or No Country For Old Men.

Perms get such a bad rap just because grandmas love them and they were a staple ingredient of '80s hair. Despite the fact that I know how useful they can be, and how many different kinds of perms there are, I might almost be hesitant to tell people if I got one, just for fear that they'd start laughing before I could explain. What's your opinion on the whole thing?

Admit it: Sometimes you want Jem and the Holograms hair ( I get dibs on Aja). I know it can be a little scary, or seem extreme, but there's no time like the present to try a little wild color. Celebrities know this, and tons of them, regardless of their age or their image, go for a little pink, purple, or blue once in a while.

I've long admired Zooey Dechanel's retro style, and at the Hollywood Awards Gala, she walked the red carpet while wearing this swirly, sparkling headband. The side angle of the hair accessory adds a playfully modern feel, and the bangs bring a fashionable element to her signature look. For a similar take on Zooey's throwback style, check out the widget below for some sparkly black headbands.

Recently, I made my yearly — OK, it's been more than a year — trip to the eye doctor. I've worn glasses for about 14 years now, and from one "trendy" frame to another, I've had lots of different looks. Since some were good, and others I'd prefer to forget, that was the inspiration behind this series of posts on choosing eyeglass frames.

This month author Lucy Porter is coming out with what looks like a hilarious look at hirsute members of the opposite sex entitled Hairy Hunks: A Celebration of Shaggy Stallions. I love Mr. Bella's fuzzy-wuzziness, but before I met him I would never have thought I'd be as attracted to a hairy guy. I think this book would make a funny gift for anybody in your life who's got a weakness for Tom Selleck, and an awesome thing to have on your coffee table.

There are so many odd ingredients in high-end beauty treatments these days, from bull semen to pigeon excrement to snail trail slime, but there's only a little information out there about how — or if — these things work, as the Los Angeles Times examines. A lot of these treatments seem a bit gimmicky to me, and I can't help but wonder if many of them are just a way to charge more for the same old deep conditioner. Along with the likes of caviar and gold facials, hair treatments are getting incredibly expensive these days, and I just can't see the results justifying the prices in this case.

Most of us, at some point, went through a "bow" phase, even if it was when we were 4. Some celebrities, though, never stop loving bows, and some of them take the look to extremes of size and shape that would have dazzled even your kindergarten self. Click through and get bowled over by the girliest of hair ornaments.

Ugh. The weather over the last week has been crappy, and my hair has totally rolled over into submission. Welcome to the grossest season, I guess.
