People toss around the terms "bun" and "chignon" a lot, but are the two interchangeable? No, actually, at least not in English. "Chignon" is the French word for bun, but in its American and British usage, it's an abbreviated term, originating from the phrase "chignon du cou," or "bun at the nape of the neck." With the shortening and misappropriation of the French, it's easy to see why there's so much confusion. Don't worry, though. Get Olivia Wilde's Modern, Audrey Hepburn-Inspired Updo Look

Olivia Wilde has been providing lots of creative hairstyle inspiration as of late, but it's the simplistic elegance of her latest look that will have you going back to it time and time again. For the Butter premiere yesterday at the Toronto Film Festival, celebrity stylist David Babaii For Couture Colour created this fresh, texturized bun for Olivia, using Audrey Hepburn as inspiration.

To get the look, apply the brand's Pequi Oil treatment to clean, wet hair. Blow-dry the hair, focusing on keeping it a tad messy to provide texture to the style. Next, wrap random sections of hair around a two-and-a-half-inch curling iron (Babaii used one from Revlon), alternating the direction of the curl for extra oomph. Now, simply sweep the hair and fringe into a bun for a classic coiffure with a modern edge.
